Custom restrap frame bag fits like a glove 👌🏻
Hello, I’ve been having great anxiety about buying a new bike. I’m very intimidated going into a bike shop (I am very shy with social anxiety, I am working on this but it’s a very real problem for me, so I’m hoping to get some advice.)
I’ve been riding my bike consistently for years (1-2 times a week in nice weather) but I’m not like a serious hard core rider, more casual. I mostly ride paved bike paths. I have been using my mountain bike for these rides, with flat bars. I’m finally ready to upgrade to a faster/smoother gravel bike with drop bars, but I’m nervous about it because I’ve never ridden with drop bars before. I’m worried about how I will handle that more “hunched over” experience, so I’d prefer the more upright positioning. From all my research, I think I’ve decided on the Specialized Diverge Comp Alloy to fit my needs. The problem is that I am right between sizes according to their chart. I’m almost 5’5” (technically 5 foot 4.75”), but I know that I have long legs and a shorter torso. Some things I’ve researched say to go with the smaller 49” frame, to remain more upright since I have a short torso (less reach to the bars.) However other things I’ve read say size up in my case. No bike shop near me has a 49” in stock, and I know myself and my anxiety, and if I go into a shop, I’m sure they’ll try to sell me on an in stock 52” even if it feels too big. Help!! Does anyone else have my measurements, or advice? It’s a lot of money for me to spend, and I’m so stressed about getting the wrong size and being stuck not enjoying riding it.
I just picked up my first gravel bike. The initial ride was awesome. Can’t wait for more!!
Just got it. Like new but less than 1/2 RRP. My low cost try at gravel cycling.
Hello all! About 3 weeks ago I bought my first bike ever. I decided to go with a Diverge 3 alloy mostly because it was $1.6k and that it was a "versatile" bike for both road and gravel. I've ridden close to 100 miles on the bike and I feel I made a mistake. Most of my rides have been in the road and the bike feels very heavy and it's difficult to keep up with others. I've been searching what upgrades could make my life easier and found out that a tubeless Roval Terra C wheel set up could make my bike way better. When searching the Terra Cs, the price is around $1.8k which is more than the total price of my bike. The question is, is the wheel upgrade really worth it or should I skip and buy a road bike later on? I've been looking on some used Tarmacs SL6 with a Di2 on a local bike shop for $2.5k and I think it's more reasonable to get a full road bike for a little more that the Terra Cs price considering I can haggle the price of the SL6 in the bike shop. I do not what to keep doing mistakes in this very expensive hobby, please help! 😂
First real bike I’ve owned..does this look right ?
I can a used 2025 elite e5 for 1400 looks in excellent condition or get a new one as in 2026? It looks like the newer 2026’s components are not as great for the same price range. I would almost have to spend another grand to get a decent bike for a 2026. The 2025 also has a 2x drivetrain. I have an older diverge that has the 1x drivetrain and I feel like there’s a big jump in gears. The reason for the change is I like the newer geometry
I was wondering if any of you guys knew the part number or official name of the step-down metal ferrules that goes between the frame and the cable housing before the cable goes into a tiny pinhole in the frame before the front derailleur of my Diverge Base E5 2021. You can see what I'm talking about in this post here, it's the metallic part. I can't find details about it in the manuals.
I've been very careful since 2021, but while doing my big spring maintenance, this little thing catapulted itself into an abyss of dust and mineral wool. Tried to sweep the floor to find it, it's nowhere to be found.
Hi all, I know this has been asked before and I read through the threads but wanted to get another take. I bought my very first bike about 2 months ago. I went with the Diverge Comp Carbon because I am new to cycling and wanted a bike that could "do it all" until I figured out what I really wanted. Over the past 2 months I am really enjoying road cycling and going fast (fast for me anyways!). I am hardly doing any or very little dirt road or gravel riding. Eventually I would like to get a road bike but currently I would like to swap out the beefy 45 tires for some slick road tires in the pursuit of speed! It would be great if I don't have to get another wheelset to keep the costs low.
Anyone have any recommendations for the "best" slick pavement tire I can put on the diverge without having to buy new wheels? Would you also recommend going tubeless? I am riding around in Marin/Sonoma county if that helps. Mix of chipseal/rough/smooth pavement.
Thank you.
Hi, does anyone here have any info on what the difference between the Axis Sport and Axis Elite wheels is, that come on some of the Diverges and how their weight compares to some eg entry level DT Swiss gravel wheels?
Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before.
I’ve recently picked up a 2022 Diverge with SRAM Rival 1x, 11 speed mechanical gearing.
I’m struggling to find a compatible power meter.
From my research, it seems that the best option would probably be to swap the crank to the Rival DUB power meter (1x), whilst swapping the bottom bracket to a 68mm DUB.
Can anyone advise if this is the best move and likewise, would this setup work with my 11 speed rear mech and chain?
Thanks for any help, I’m completely new to SRAM gearing.
Hello, i am currently thinking of getting a second wheelset for the road. While the Pathinders are a great alrounder i'd love some slicks for races and maybe lighter wheels?
Tbh i have little to no clue about specs, but from what i can see wheels that are deep are hella expensive (and good looking 🥲), so those are out, but maybe one can get a "cheap" light road wheelset that fits the bike (how universal are wheels, what stats do i need to know??)
Happy about any help👀
I've got a 2020 Diverge E5 Comp that I've mostly kept stock. As a mountain biker in denial after moving to the beach, I've loved it for everything from quick commutes to sandy trails to solo road centuries. That said, living where I do with almost no hills, I find myself basically only ever playing in the top two gears and spinning at a very high cadence to keep up with roadie friends.
Has anyone had any luck with upgrades that give the bike a bit more top end speed/efficiency without just turning it into a poor facsimile of a slack road bike? I don't want to lose the ability to hit trails/add panniers for bikepacking/hop curbs/handle cobbles, but I feel like I should be able to juice a little more out without spinning for my life.
Apart from just trying to get stronger and up my cadence, I was looking at a few upgrades:
Run a tubeless setup on either the Pathfinder TLRs or the maybe Rene Herse Snoqualmie Passes (leaning TLRs after hearing reliability concerns about the RHs)
Upgrade chainring to a Wolftooth 110BCD 44t ring to bump up gear ratios about 10%
Swap out the wheels for HUNT 4-season all-road or Shimano GRX WH-RX570. Again, I'm tempted by the performance of the HUNT wheels, but heard mixed things on quality/longevity.
Any other recommendations/words of warning for how to make a better road machine without compromising what we all love about the Diverge? Or should I just suck it up and go "n+1" on a used road bike?
Found a pretty tempting deal on a 2019(ish) S works frame with the future shock 2.0. Looking at the specs it is pretty much my ideal all road bike. 42mm clearance is totally adequate for me.
I really like the color way, and look of the frame.
I wonder what one of these built up with all modern components Rival e1 2x deep carbon wheels, and carbon aerofly bars would be like?
If tire clearance is not a issue would this be an upgrade?
Went into LBS. have one that was ridden about 200 miles happens to be my size. Went I. Planning to order a sport. They Wanted 4k (4.2 msrp).
Anyone have any idea how to value used almost new. At that price point seems might be better to just get a new one. 5% off.
Diverge Carbon Expert finally came and so did I.
Anyway, immediately switched to 47mm Teravail Cannonballs from the stock 42mm Pathfinders and noticed I have like 4mm of clearance on both sides. I thought the 47mm was the max and I was more than happy with that but now I’m considering the 2.1 Thunder Burts I have in the parts bin lol
Anyone tried them? I think it’s a 2025 Diverge expert carbon with Roval Terra C wheels.
Thanks!
