Tire recommendations

Hi all, I know this has been asked before and I read through the threads but wanted to get another take. I bought my very first bike about 2 months ago. I went with the Diverge Comp Carbon because I am new to cycling and wanted a bike that could "do it all" until I figured out what I really wanted. Over the past 2 months I am really enjoying road cycling and going fast (fast for me anyways!). I am hardly doing any or very little dirt road or gravel riding. Eventually I would like to get a road bike but currently I would like to swap out the beefy 45 tires for some slick road tires in the pursuit of speed! It would be great if I don't have to get another wheelset to keep the costs low.

Anyone have any recommendations for the "best" slick pavement tire I can put on the diverge without having to buy new wheels? Would you also recommend going tubeless? I am riding around in Marin/Sonoma county if that helps. Mix of chipseal/rough/smooth pavement.

Thank you.
