Ceba "specialist" representing itself as human

I just had a transaction issue and used the messaging system to try to get a resolution/notify of a potential security issue.

After providing a bit of info ceba told me a human would be in touch.

The "human" was called Isabella who completely ignored my previous information and gave me a cookie cutter response and proceeded to close the chat without addressing any of the issues mentioned.

Isabella assured me they were human but their actions and lack of response points to this not being the case.

If they were human they provided no assistance whatsoever.

Terrible Response to an Email

Asking why they address a letter sent by email to my residential address when all my correspondence is sent to my PO Box including credit card statements

"CBA Information Classification: Customer and Personal ]

All mail is address to your residential address, as no one lives in a Po box. Your postal address remains the same"

Does anyone actually get good value from CommBank credit card rewards?

I always see the points promotions but wonder if people genuinely benefit long term. Are the rewards decent if used properly? Or mostly marketing hype?

Has anyone here had to deal with fraud/scam transactions with CommBank? How did it go?

Had a random thought after seeing so many scam stories lately. If you’ve ever had suspicious transactions or your account compromised, how was CBA to deal with? Did they sort it out quickly or was it a painful process?

Hey there.
How do I get work in CommBank?

I've done most of my software engineering on my personal projects, market's tough and just loads of people.

I don't really care about pay or salary or similar, All I care about getting to work with CommBank.

I'm okay being an Intern, this is also a very good way to get to understand how commercial software systems work, going out of my own nest basically.

If there are any employees who work here, would be willing to do a referral, I'm willing to chat!

CBA STEALS $1 from my pension fortnightly

The last two fortnights I have transferred to CBA the exact amount for a purchase yet it did not go through because I was $1 short, CBA skimmed $1 from my transfer.

I had to transfer all but $1 back to my other account and then go back to transfer the reappearing $1. It's very annoying and could be considered theft! What can I do? Close my account?

CBA’s variable rate increase officially kicked in on March 27, putting the standard Digi Home Loan at 8.55% p.a. I checked my app today and noticed my "actual" rate is slightly lower, but still way higher than this time last year. For those who have been with CBA for 5+ years- are you successfully calling up and getting a "retention discount" lately, or is the bank playing hardball because they know the whole market is up? If you managed to haggle, what rate did they cave at?

Direct Line phone number for Scams & Fraud Team Commbank

I hate the Commonwealth Bank. I think they are the number one example of why privatisation is never a good idea.

I think they treat customers like garbage and treat their staff even worse.

I have recently been given a direct line to the scams and fraud team in the process of trying to resolve an issue between my bank and the Commonwealth Bank.

To whatever extent this may be useful to somebody hoping not to wait on hold for hours at a time in order to speak to a human about where their money has gone.

Whistleblower Privacy Breach – Australia

Has anyone here dealt with concerns around confidentiality/privacy after raising issues through an internal workplace disclosure process within a large organisation?

I’m trying to better understand possible pathways, outcomes, and whether others have had similar experiences navigating the overlap between employment issues, psychological injury/stress leave, and internal investigations.

I’d also really appreciate recommendations for strong employment lawyers experienced in handling complex workplace matters involving large organisations.

Happy for people to comment or DM privately.

Thanks.

ELI5

About to start on my journey with investing. Have decided to go down the route of pocket to start with.

1 - is it really as simple as just “buying” the one I want. I just looked at the one I wanted said I needed to spend $65 so I could buy 3 shares

2 - what happens at tax time. I get tax on the interest, or only when I sell? I also assume I won’t be making a lot so I’m not too worried, just curious.

3 - If I buy in pocket, can I see it on commbank app?

4 - I also set up Commsec, but no idea how to use it!

5 - I plan on investing $100 a month. Should I keep to the same, or choose 2 or 3?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

Hi was just wondering what people’s opinions are on what credit card to get. I would be using it for a bigger purchase say a fridge or washing machine for when i eventually find my own place.

Tap and pay not working consistently

Hey all, I have had no problems in the past, until I updated my phone after it nagged me for 3 months. Since then tap and pay works inconsistently (or not at all).

I have tried removing and reinstalling the app, removing and re-adding the card a number of times.

Tap and pay seems to work for 2 transactions at different stores and then stops working altogether giving errors like 'not allowed' or 'no card'.

This has happened on multiple occasions in a similar manner, although at some times it will reject the second transaction of the day. For instance;

* Today went to coles and paid no problem. Went to Aldi, and paid no problem. Went to butcher, error. Went to Asian grocery, error.
* Last week got fuel, paid no problem. Got to destination, cafe couldnt buy coffee.
* Last week, went to coles and paid no problem. Went to Aldi and paid no problem. Went back to same Coles, error. Went to grocery, error.

There does not seem to be transaction or dollar amount limits in settings. There does not appear to be any limitation in settings at all.

At both the butcher and Asian store today they said this is common with CBA cards, although I never experienced any of these problems before updating phone.

Has anyone experienced similar?

CBA card disputes are something else.

I disputed a credit card transaction for a service that wasn’t completed as agreed. The merchant’s own dispute outcome admitted part of the agreed work wasn’t done and gave me only a partial refund.

CBA first closed the dispute for “insufficient information”.

Then after I complained, they said the dispute had been reopened and was under investigation.

Then apparently they closed it again, but I never received the outcome email they claim was sent.

Then they asked me to provide the merchant’s terms and conditions/refund policy.

Then they sent another letter saying they had already assessed the merchant’s terms and conditions/refund policy and decided the transaction was correctly charged.

So which is it?

Did they not have enough information?

Did they already assess the merchant’s terms?

Did they need me to provide them?

Was the dispute open?

Was it closed?

Was it reopened?

No one seems to know.

The best part is the merchant had already admitted the service wasn’t fully completed. Somehow CBA still turned this into a paperwork scavenger hunt instead of just assessing the actual dispute.

Absolutely cooked.

Can someone please explain the process of valuation for a new build? Context, I am building and have just signed a sales contract on the land. Is there anything I need to look out for when building that can/will affect this?

Is the new "Agentic AI" actually stopping scams, or just blocking your regular shopping?

CommBank announced they deployed a new "advanced agentic AI" on April 24 to spot fraud patterns in real-time. Apparently, it’s already responsible for updating 75% of the card fraud rules. Has anyone noticed the app being more "aggressive" with those 40,000 proactive warning alerts they send daily? Is it catching the fake "CommBank Rewards" SMS scams, or is it just making it harder to buy stuff from overseas sites?

Hi!

I set up step pay and have been using it and paying it off automatically fine etc.

I want to pay off some payments early- will they stop me using steppay in the future or are there any repercussions?

I know with some other accounts/ "loans etc" (and even paypal pay in 4), they sometimes penalise you OR stop you from using the payment loan in the future (eg Paypal sometimes removes you ability to use the pay in 4 feature if you make early repayments).

Thank you!

With the 2026 Bankwest Enterprise Agreement negotiations currently in full swing and more frontline services being "integrated" into CBA, I’m seeing a lot of mixed signals. If you were moved from a Bankwest contract to a CBA one recently, was the process as "seamless" as they promised in the emails? I’m specifically worried about my old offset account features- did everything carry over to the CommBank app correctly, or are you still fighting with support to get your "Yello" benefits recognized?
