How come CeX seems to have moved all of their online deliveries to DPD instead of Royal Mail? And, what seems to denote it coming with DPD? I bought a cheap DVD and they sent it with DPD, but three weeks ago bought a rare PS3 game and it was sent with Royal Mail untracked (and still hasn't arrived!)
I mean, I'm not complaining because deliveries from DPD are so much faster and our driver is great.
Okay so a few days ago I had done a drop and go to my local CeX. Today I sent a email to support to ask if I could get an update on my stuff. I then got an email back earlier saying they will contact the said CeX I sold stuff to

Ordered the John candy collection. Arrived brand new and with plastic bubble wrap. Weird because they make me unwrap new items in store when I trade stuff in, and every order I have ever done is packed with paper wrap. Not complaining though 😁
Just a summary of my experience using CEX in Sunderland.....
I took a bunch of PS3 games in to trade for a voucher all of which were common titles worth between 60p and £1.50 however there was around 60 games though so worth it for the most part,
After browsing the store while the employee ran through the stack he shouted me over to tell me he's done however he needed to run 7 games through a disc cleaner to be able to take them not telling me I'd be charged £2 per disc for this,
Now baring in mind I've been charged £2 to clean a game that's worth a 60p voucher is not only ridiculous but the height of ignorance not checking with me if I agree to that
Is this a thing with CEX stores or did I just get hit by some freaky blue haired nose pierced weirdo, I hold my hands up I didn't even question it simply took my voucher and left but it's really playing on my mind doing such a dirty trick to me
Someone might've paid £18 for Wedding Crashers 20 years ago but it's not worth that now.. It's the same as charity shops getting tonnes of old books. Very few people will buy them. CeX are unlikely to ever sell them most of them on again. It's just good to have somewhere that can take them off your hands.
I got rid of half my dvds ages ago and then the rest went in a dvd folder case. Saved a load of space. I probably won't watch any of them again but the option is there.
Has anyone ever had an order insta-cancel and then just… vanish?
I tried to buy a game for collection using a voucher. The app says it's cancelled, but I’ve had zero emails and no refund on my balance. Even worse, the store staff said the voucher itself is now showing as cancelled. (Can see the number on my app order)

I want to sell an original Xbox to cex I know it works but I’m wondering if they’ll take it with it missing one of the wires
Just asking if anyone else has the same experience. A lot of the time when I’ve asked to have a disc resurfaced at CeX, the store has had no problem with doing that.
However I feel like they must either put on too much of the solution / paste or whatever it is. Or not have the disc in the machine for long enough, as when they come out, there’s dried white paste all over the discs. And I find myself having to then go over the discs myself with a microfibre cloth to clean it off the discs.
Does this happen to anyone else? Or have I just been getting unlucky?
So about 3 weeks ago I bought hello kitty island adventure for my switch from cex (with a few other items) and I payed 45 pounds, however I recently saw it for 30 pounds in argos as well as other places and was wondering if cex did a price match style thing like other places do, as I bought it on klarna and haven't finished paying it all off yet, or is that not possible? I've sold to cex a few times but only recently started buying from there, and this is the first time I've spent more than 20 pounds really, so I'm just wondering
Hello. I bought a 2nd hand ps4 few hours back from CEX. They demoed it to me by running a game for 1-2 mins. I also played some racing game for a min. At first they had issue running it but later they said it worked fine. Everything looked ok so I bought it along with Nier Automata and Uncharted 4.
Came home and set it up with my TV. Both the game crashes after 10mins of game play. For uncharted 4, it shows an error that the disc is damaged( after googing I found the disc might be fine, but the HDD might be faulty) and ejects the game. For Nier Automata, it ejects the game without error in 10min. For both cases if I uninstall and reinstall it then it can run for 10 more mins.
I feel like the product is faulty and shouldn't have passed their tests. I am taking it back tomorrow morning and I think that they should refund the full money instead of store credits.
Anyone faced similar situation with CEX? Do they refund full money?
The customers that have been coming into my store lately have absolutely lost the plot and it’s making me insane so I’m just writing down a list of things that people have gotten irrationally mad at before to maybe help someone in the future (please note that while I work here, I don’t think CEX is infallible. They do a lot of things wrong. But so do the customers).
- no we cannot buy your laptop with several screws missing and no charger
- just because you kept the box does not mean that your scratched/chipped to hell and utterly filthy ps5 will still be considered a boxed grade
- most dvds are worth .01p. I promise I didn’t set the prices. Pls stop acting like I did
- no I cannot reset your phone for you for us to test it. We have never met and I don’t know your passwords
- I explained in writing what the 48hr return to voucher is. You cannot decide you don’t want the voucher anymore if the item is fine (we did have to refund this one as she grabbed me aggressively!!!!!)
- you will get no money if you bring in a console with no hdmi, power cable, or controller. Do you expect us to just buy and sell a useless brick??
- yes, your cash buy price will be less than the retail price. CEX is not built for consumer-end profit. It’s a second hand store. It’s built so you get something instead of nothing. I am so far removed by who sets those prices
- please make sure you research how to connect your item before saying it doesn’t work. 9/10 times it is just using Bluetooth
- no you cannot convert your voucher into cash. Again, I do not make the rules
- yes, it will take more than 10 minutes to test your fully dead iPhone 6 or your meta quest 3
- I’m glad your phone works, but we can’t buy it in with the back of it literally shattered unless at a non working price (they didn’t like the non working price)
Please take these with a grain of salt. CEX still fucks up more than they don’t but these situations are all people that should know better and are getting mad at the wrong people and I’m losing it

So a few days ago (specifically 4 days ago) I sold some stuff to CeX for vouchers, when I searched up when I was expected to get payed back I was told it would be around the same day of selling the stuff or the next day. But I haven’t gotten an email back about anything

I know my local CEX doesn't have a PS2 in stock. So how exactly would they test them, or would they just not buy them?
I have a few Moza products to sell I have the original box for the wheel and base but not for the shifter etc so I have to unmount all these and pack them away or can I just take it all down and just box up the wheel and base?
Seems switch 1 & 2 games are mainly more than other store new prices!

When I bought about 6 3D films they said 'I'm not dealing with that, make the new guy do it' and the discs weren't put into the case properly, they just put the little plastic sleeves in the side bit.
When I bought a small bag on dvds and Blu-rays in to trade in for a voucher they got very very annoyed and didn't try to hide it.
I have a cex sized bag of Blu-rays to trade in for another voucher, should I take them all at once or take a couple at a time so they don't get pissy?
