📍Montjoie Pattiserie @West End

📍Montjoie Pattiserie @West End

Was running some errands around West End this arvo and wanted a quick lunch. Decided to check out [Montjoie Pattiserie](https://maps.app.goo.gl/KFPp4mW4UbUCQrDF8) .

Ordered the ham & cheese savoury crepe, $13. The gentleman behind the counter asked if I wanted a buckwheat crepe, sure, why not.

Came out quick, nicely hot, and larger than I thought. Very crispy, I liked the light rye texture + gooey cheese and nice quality ham. Appreciated how they added a bit of cracked pepper. Super simple but wholly delicious.

Might make another post if I go again and try some of their sweets. Any recs?

Edit: thanks u/dog-dinosaur who pointed out this is a *gallette bretonne*, a traditional French savoury crepe made with buckwheat from Brittany (hence the name). Apparently the complete version (which they did have) traditionally comes with extra mushrooms, spinach and a sunny side up egg in the middle. TIL!

Brisbane Motor Museum

The Brisbane Motor Museum is such a good spot even if you’re not massively into cars. The whole car exhibit changes every few months so there’s always completely different cars to come back and see which keeps it really interesting. But honestly the food the reason I go back now. They do all kinds of functions and bookings for any occasion and can completely cater to your needs which is how my husband and I actually discovered it. Their breakfast menu is so good, the big breakfast, eggs benedict, smashed avo and breakie burgers are genuinely beyond cafe quality and the coffee is great too. Then for lunch they’ve got burgers, steak sandwiches, loaded wedges and proper meals that are actually really filling. But only that they can do their full breakfast and lunch menus basically entirely gluten-free and they have a whole cabinet with even more offerings which is great for my kids!! It’s fully air-conditioned, there’s undercover parking with wheelchair accessibility and they’re fully licensed too so you can even grab a beer with lunch. Ticket prices are actually pretty decent as well with concession and family discounts and more. Highly recommend checking it out, the family and I go at least once a month hahaha

Date night restaurant in CBD?

Want to plan a nice date night in the CBD for my partner who is a big pizza fan. Want something in the city so we can go for a walk along the river after and maybe have a nice glass of wine or two as well. Any good recommendations?

Looking for something with nice vibes for a date night!

Help: Australians & Recent Tourists

I need your help! I am starting to book an Australian trip!
(for two adults)

Brisbane is a must for Bluey’s World & the Zoo. I will also try to visit places from the show.

Any other tips on where to go, where to stay, and what to do? I have a lot of ideas but want to ask how I can do it best.

Also what is the best way to travel throughout the country long distances like from Brisbane to Sydney: car, train, flight?

Some things to know: I love little blue penguins, I have celiac disease, I want to get a tattoo while there, autism friendly venues appreciated, open to nature adventures (especially on/in water aka great barrier reef or diving with sharks)

P.S. Any budget friendly recommendations so we can do the most while there?

Chermside/Aspley area. My mum loves Italian desserts, especially those two and was looking to round some up for her for Mother's Day, but has heard major mixed reviews on where to go for them. Any personal experiences or places to avoid would be great.

Visiting from 14th-18th and need suggestions!

Hi folks,

Myself and 3 other NRL fan nutcases are driving up for Magic Round on the weekend so I'm looking for suggestions for Lunch eats around the Brisbane CBD.

Open to all kinds of cuisine, my 3 travelling buddies are pretty sheltered so Foodie Pubs and Banquets and the like would be great BUT I can convince them to try anything so extra points for chicken heart skewers, yum cha tripe etc. etc.

Cheers!

P.S. Wouldn't mind a waterside cook yourself bbq if there's any public bbqs that have good view?

All Day West End

One of my favourite newer brunch spots in West End at the moment is All Day. Menu feels thoughtful without trying too hard and the portions are actually decent.

Gemelli Italian Delicious Night Out

Gemelli Italian is one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in Brisbane! It’s in Fortitude Valley around James Street and although it’s on the pricey side, it’s definitely worth it!

I have been to lots of Asian restaurants in Brisbane. Now i am looking for other alternatives. I am thinking - Steakhouse;
- Italian, Greek, European; and
- Modern Australian.
Also if you know any nice bars you can recommend it will be great.

Just wondering if anyone knows what happened to this german restaurant in brisbane. I used to go for birthdays as a kid but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. They were somewhere in the CBD and had beer glasses hanging from the ceiling and little fake windows of the country side. The food was phenomenal and i miss it so much.

So I just moved to Brisbane for work, and honestly my biggest culture shock has been how expensive eating out here is. Back home I'd grab dinner at my favourite local Thai place for nothing, but here every meal feels like a small financial decision lol.. A mate mentioned EatClub and I've been going back and forth on whether it's actually worth downloading.

Before I sign up I wanted to find some genuine eatclub app reviews from people who've actually used it regularly. Like does the discount actually work smoothly at the restaurant, and are there decent restaurant options and where are they located? Any honest experience helps!

Hey

There's a two part series on YouTube where chefs show their favourite eats around Brisbane.

It's like a wholesome munchies

Hey bris foodie community.

Most recent post I could find on private dining was a year ago so looking for any current recommendations for around 10 people, whether those are updated on the kids recommendations or new places that have popped up.

Budget range $250-300 pp

Additionally also looking for good long lunch options (West end, city, valley, Newstead), that has good food and decent portion sizes.
