Which shoe is the better deal?

Nike Vomero+: $100 Nike Pegasus 41: $80

Also I recently tried on US size 11.5 on the regular Vomero 18s but it was a tad too tight length wise in the shoe box so should I go up half a size to US 12? Are there any size differences between these models?

I should probably mention that this shoe is intended as a daily shoe.

Do‑Win PB4, PB4 Elite (newer), and PB4.5 (new): Main Differences and Upgrades

Hello running community 👋
I’m a bit confused about the Do‑Win line: what are the PB4, PB4 Elite, and PB4.5 each for? Are PB4 Elite and PB4.5 meant for the same role in a shoe rotation, or do they target different workouts? Which one is more durable and better for tempo/TH‑pace training?

Thanks!

Decision guide

Need Help :)

My Asics Novablast 5 are pretty much done at around 850 km, so I’m looking for a new pair. Ideally something popular and reliable.

Use case: easy runs and long runs, about 2–3 times a week

Surface: 50/50 hard packed forest trails and asphalt

Right now I’m deciding between the Nike Vomero Plus, the Asics Superblast 2 and the Mount to Coast H1, but I can’t really tell which one would suit me best.

I’m looking for a well cushioned, comfortable daily trainer that can handle longer distances without feeling too heavy, and ideally something durable as well. Any advice or experience with these would help a lot.

Do you think we'll see a "market correction" to stack heights?

I just took my first run in the MagMax Nitro, and I generally enjoyed it, but I kind of kept saying to myself "why the heck do we need this much midsole foam if we didn't need it 5 years ago"

For fun, I took a look at the BITR review of the original Novablast (maybe my favorite shoe of all time), and it's legitimately pretty shocking at how much things have changed. They mention that it "Works well for those who like a higher stack height (31 mm/21 mm, 10 mm drop) and softer feel"

And now I'm looking at the Mizuno Neo Zen, which is an insanely soft 39.5mm stack...and that's considered basically normal for a daily trainer these days. I recently read someone saying they couldn't imagine running a marathon in the Vaporfly 4 (35mm stack, carbon plate, elite racing foam), yet people were running marathons in the original Novablast just 5 years ago!

What do you think: have we gone too far? Will there be some company that comes out with a bouncy 30mm stack height marketed as a daily trainer? Or will stack heights just keep going up for all eternity?

Nothing feels good, but rating & getting feedback about trainers does!!!

Asics & Saucony both were well established International brands.

Both brands have their own loyal customer & they personally feels it something incredible for their most of the run types. Since, I'm not a professional track runner but indeed a casual dude who loves to run for fun & health conscious.

My first pick in this running journey was Asics gel content 9. It's not a great but better than nothing. Also it uses a basic eva foam with a tiny piece of gel tech. Once I started to reach 5k with s-hin s-plints in a bit intense pace, then I brutally noticed this trainer feels like hard rock.

Here, the Asics gel Nimbus 27 & Saucony Tempus 2 enters to play major roles of my most runs. The Nimbus 27 is great for slow pace & long runs that paired with high stack & max cushion. In contrast Tempus 2 is a beast for most pace levels with a great energy return but not cushioned as Nimbus but pretty close to Nimbus in terms of stack & cushion. The fun part is Tempus 2 is a mild stability trainer with light weight, that uses 2 types of foam tech.

It's a great rotation isn't???

If yes, kindly drop you feedback broskies.

Eyelet repair?

I go on long walks with my dog, and as such she loves my shoes. I put them up high on a rack to prevent her from getting to them, but last night she used the couch to prop herself up and she got my shoe. I am so upset :(

Is there any way to fix this? My husband bought these for me recently and I feel so bad.

non spiked shoes

i’m trying to find the best non spiked running shoes to get into sprinting. i currently have the asics gel nimbus 26 for when i was training for a half marathon, but i know these are not anywhere near ideal for sprinting. my girlfriend runs d1 track, and i’ve been training with her on campus after class sometimes, and just want to get good at sprinting for fun. i won’t always be training on a track though, and definitely won’t get too serious into this, so i know i don’t need spikes. what shoes would you recommend?

Saucony Kinvara 16 width difference male/women

I (M) recently purchased a pair of Kinvara 16 to replace my old Kinavara 11.

I ordered a women version in my usual foot size, since I liked the colour and it was a bit cheaper than the male versions.

I find the shoes very narrow, from the midfoot to the toebox. My old Kinvara 11 have a lot more room compared to these 16. I can't even imagine running in these shoes when I see how uncomfortable I am by just trying them.

Is there a significant width difference between male and women versions ?

Looking to add a fun shoe to the rotation - as a gift

My boyfriend has a birthday coming up and I'd like to buy him a running related gift. I had decided to buy the On Cloudmonster 3 because he really liked the Cloudmonster 2 but he beat me to it by buying a second pair of Cloudmonster 2's since they were on special. I guess that's how much he likes them!

This is his current rotation - 2 On Cloudmonster 2's (size 11), Adidas Terrex as a trail runner (size 12), Hoka Rincon 3 (11.5). I think he previously had a New Balance Fuel cell rebel he likes. He doesn't tend like super 'soft' shoes with huge stacks?

He has flat and wide feet. He is a long distance runner with a marathon and a few half marathons coming up and is interested in ultras. He runs roughly 4-5 times a week.

I was thinking of getting a fun race shoe (something that he wouldn't spend money on himself) or a new trail runner because I just noticed the Adidas has holes in the side near the toe. I'd love to get something different for him to try or add something to the rotation that maybe is missing? any recommendations?

Superblast 2 leg pain

Hi everyone, just got my brand new superblast 2’s, the look great, I was previously running in novablast 4, and it was time for a change, so I decided to get the superblast 2, which where on sale, the first day I used them I couldn’t run more than 1.5 km, the pain on my calf’s and ankles was unbearable, I thought that I was just fatigued because of the gym and previous runs, today, 3 days after that, decided to go on an easy run, but in km 2 the pain came back, and continues even I stopped my run. I’ve read that it takes some time to get used to, has anyone else had this problem? Should I return them? And if so, what do you recommend me to get instead.

Ankle Stability Shoe Advice

Hey everyone, I’m looking for recommendations on running shoes with good ankle stability. I recently picked up the Adidas Adizero SL, and they’ve been pretty rough on my ankles. To be fair, I know I should also be working on strengthening them.

When I got fitted, I was recommended the ASICS Superblast 3. Does anyone have experience with those? Or are there other shoes you’d recommend that offer better stability?

Trail runners for a non-runner

I'm not a runner. I wish I was a runner but I have a bad back that gets more out of whack than usual when I run. I keep a pair of trail runners in my wardrobe for casual use because they are still comfortable and I like the darker soles compared to regular running shoes so they don't get as dirty. I may go on a hike 1-2 times a year.

My back (and my feet) do ok when I am actually walking but standing around a lot like while doing touristy type things really kills me. So I'm looking for some kind of shoe that will be most comfortable and supportive for when I am just standing around waiting on something to happen.

I have previously had a couple pairs of Brooks PureGrit (21/17) but they are long discontinued and it is harder and harder to find any old pairs around now. So I need to find something else.

I've previously skewed toward firmer, lower profile shoes but I will listen if somehow thicker and/or softer shoes would be better. Some models I have considered are Saucony Perregrine, Nike Terra Kiger, Brooks Cascadia, Adidas Terrex Flow, Altra Outroad, and Hoka Speedgoat.

Thank you!

Superblast 3 and Vomero Plus Overlap

Currently have the Superblast 3, love them and using them for longer runs and some faster, shorter runs. Have the opportunity to get the Vomero Plus for a good deal but is there a lot of overlap between the 2 shoes? Would Vomero Plus be good option for easy/recovery runs only? First world running problem/question but wanted to get thoughts and opinions.

Stability shoes cause blisters?

Hello everyone

So i have a question regarding running shoes.

About a year ago I got a pair of Brooks adrenaline gts and now its time to get a new pair of shoes.

These shoes have been causing me blisters very often and the area never seems to toughen up. Ive tried plasters, different socks and creams but nothing seems to help and im tired of it. I get blisters on the top inside of my foot, near the widest part.

I was told to get the stability shoes because im flat footed but I haven't seen anything to support the claim that flat feet need stability shoes, especially since the flat feet have cause me no issues since I was about 10.

I just wanted to ask if its true that stability shoes give more blisters because of the higher arch? Should I talk about getting a more neutral shoe?

Trail running shoe recommendations - shortlisted

I'm currently on my Merrell Agility Peak 5. Love them for their traction and fit. But, would like another option for speed and something that feels lighter.

I've short listed the following:

  1. Mount to Coast T1

  2. Adidas Terrex Speed 2

  3. NNormal Tomir 2.0

  4. NNormal Kjerag 2.0

  5. Salomon S/Lab Genesis

I also wanted the VJ Maxx2, but they are tough to find in the US.

I'm on the fence on Hoka Speedgoat 7.

Thought?

Anything else that I need to consider as well?

Thanks for your time.

Recommendations for a long/easy run shoe

Hi all,

I started my running journey about a year ago.

At that time I decided to go with the Asics Novablast 5. I've enjoyed quite a lot however I think that the foam got tired quite fast.

In January I decided to expand my collection with a tempo shoe and got myself the Craft Endurance 3 M. I find it a fun shoe and I like firmer sole for my faster runs.

Now I've decide it is high time I retire NB5s and get a new shoe for easy/long runs.

I'm doing my first HM on May 3rd and my intention is to run it in this new shoe. My goal is to finish at around 2 hours.

I've looked at, in no particular order:

\- Superblast 3

\- Lining Red Hare 9 Ultra

\- New Balance 880

However, I would love to hear your insights. What would you recommend for a runner like me?

Half marathon shoe

for context: 1:42 half marathon, 45min 10k, sub 20 5k

I am pretty light runner (under 50kg) and looking for some low-drop half marathon shoes, cause of my knee pain with high-stack foam shoes. Any recommendations?

Fit issues with Adidas Adizero Evo SL

Hey guys,

I'm a fairly new, average runner. Up until now, I've only used entry-level daily trainers, so I'm not used to more advanced shoes. My standard shoe size is a UK 8, and I'm pretty confident in that size since an 8 fits me perfectly in every other brand I've tried on.

Initially, the toe box felt tight, but wearing thinner socks helped. The real issue is when I actually run or walk: my foot keeps sliding forward, making my toes mash into the front of the shoe.

It doesn't feel like the shoe is strictly "too small", it feels more like the steep slope of the toe box (I've highlighted it in the pic) is actively pushing/sliding my foot forward with every step.

Is this a sizing issue, or is it just how these shoes are built? Let me know if you've had similar issues or if there's a fix!

P.S. : I did not get a chance to try them on before since they were a gift from my friends and i cannot get them replaced/returned as well
