Trail runners for a non-runner

I'm not a runner. I wish I was a runner but I have a bad back that gets more out of whack than usual when I run. I keep a pair of trail runners in my wardrobe for casual use because they are still comfortable and I like the darker soles compared to regular running shoes so they don't get as dirty. I may go on a hike 1-2 times a year.

My back (and my feet) do ok when I am actually walking but standing around a lot like while doing touristy type things really kills me. So I'm looking for some kind of shoe that will be most comfortable and supportive for when I am just standing around waiting on something to happen.

I have previously had a couple pairs of Brooks PureGrit (21/17) but they are long discontinued and it is harder and harder to find any old pairs around now. So I need to find something else.

I've previously skewed toward firmer, lower profile shoes but I will listen if somehow thicker and/or softer shoes would be better. Some models I have considered are Saucony Perregrine, Nike Terra Kiger, Brooks Cascadia, Adidas Terrex Flow, Altra Outroad, and Hoka Speedgoat.

Thank you!
