He just sent me my schedule and the first day is 8 AM to 2 PM and the second day is 5 PM to 10:15 PM, Is my manager Scheduling me the times he’s working so i can be trained by him? and then after training i will have the regular 10 AM to 2 PM Hours? “I have a dumb question but..”

How would you feel if you heard someone start a question with “I have a dumb question but..” I’m wondering because I always used that if I don’t know how to properly word the question or want clarification. Also it’s my way of subtly saying “sorry for wasting your time if the answer was obvious.”

Coustmer services experts, I am wrong in here

A lady came to buy a playing card, She took 5 minutes to download an app that will give her more cash in her card and there's was people were waiting behind her

she said they weren’t with her, so I helped the next customer while she stand beside the counter. After I finished her transaction, she wanted to order again for new people who just walked in — not even in line ( they are her friends) , I already had a queue, so I took the next person. I didn't heard her Cleary when she said wait ! According to her when she was complaining to the supervisor, she said " I told her to wait "

In that moment I already finished her order. And the cousmter in the line was waiting and long queue, Is strange that she waited for one minute and she start scolds me: How dare you ignore me?

I worked one year and half in that field but still problems came to me even with experience.. people who work in similar jobs. How do you see that situation ?

Retail people, I have a quick question, can you really see what's going on in your business without looking?

might be just me noticing this, but in a lot of retail setups i’ve seen, the data is there… just not easy to use

pos, inventory, sales, everything’s tracked
but if you ask something like “what’s actually going on today?” it’s not a quick answer

usually ends up being:
checking a few reports
opening different screens
or asking someone to pull numbers

nothing’s really broken, it just takes time to piece things together

worked with a couple of teams where once they had all the important numbers in one place (we ended up putting a dashboard on top of what they already had), things got a lot smoother day to day

less back and forth, less guessing

curious how others are handling this
are you mostly living in reports, or do you already have something that gives you a clear view?

I am applying for a Role as a store manager in Home Bargains, I have been tasked to do a SWOT Analysis whilst with the AM. What would be some really good things to bring up and to look out for?
