We just loved to a vintage apartment an want some advice making our space super cozy and colorful any ideas we are at square 1
hey everyone, im building a custom bar in this arch. Im doing 3 door wood cabinet and a marble countertop that goes as a backsplash halfway up the wall.
I want a dramatic marble, nothing plain or subtle. im leaning towards a dark wood like walnut, maybe paired with a moody dark red or heavily veined marble.
what exact wood and marble combos would u reccomend? thanks!
Hey r/IndianHomeDecor,
I’m currently renovating my very first house (a resale property here in Bangalore). I originally went for this place because I absolutely loved how open it feels, especially the big balconies! My goal is to go for a minimal theme with lots of breathing room and indoor greenery.
However, because of the current layout, I’m having a tough time deciding on the best placement for the furniture and everyday items.
The Big Structural Changes:
My Current Layout Idea (Color-Coded Image Attached):
I’ve attached the layout I have in mind. Please let me know what you think! Am I missing anything obvious? Any suggestions on better furniture placement or ways to maximize the minimal, open vibe would be hugely appreciated!
Okay, so I posted a little while ago and got some helpful feedback. I’ve mocked up this layout on canva and would really appreciate some feedback.
So what I’m thinking about changing/adding:
Picked up this painting from thrift store which looked cool and added color
Searching for portraits to add that antique Spanish revival feel
Purchased green faux mohair pillows from crate barrel
Want to purchase a single scalamandre Marly pillow which will offer a pattern, complement the green in other throw pillows/art/vase, and offer a tease of red (which will complement art/flowers)
Add red faux flowers in a vase for a pop of red
Add a vintage style black iron mirror to bounce light and complement black iron curtain rods and black iron floor lamp, this will also tie into the Spanish revival feel
Kept texture with the boucle chairs and sphere pillow
Looking to get camel/gold/wheat colored linen semi sheer to sheer curtains (current ones are too light)
Looking for reclaimed wood/vintage coffee table
Eventually replace console with dark wood and larger piece
Purchased large woven ceiling light to bring in more texture and natural element
Changed out old jute rug for still neutral rug but has a bit of a pattern now
I recently picked up two new pieces from WhaleFrame that feature linear axes. I really like this style and wanted to share them with everyone. I’m also looking for some advice on monitors. Thanks.
Just moved into my new place and looking for some living room ideas.
One wall is painted in Lick 007 blue and I actually really like it, so I want to keep it. The problem is I’m not great at interior design and I’m struggling to figure out what colours would work well with it, especially for things like the TV unit, furniture, and decor.
What colours would you pair with this shade of blue? I’m open to ideas for TV units, cabinets, shelves, sofas, etc.
Would really appreciate any suggestions
Hey r/designmyroom — I’m stuck.
We’re doing a light refresh of our TV/living room. We previously had some faux built-in IKEA media console/shelves (you know the kind) which we decided were (1) kinda cheap looking and (2) too bulky for our small (11x14) living room.
We think the sectional should leave or be shrunk to a smaller size (it’s modular) but are kinda stuck on the right layout/furniture to have so we retain seating for our family (4), guests, and don’t over bulk the space again.
Any bright ideas?
Hello, we have a 60” double vanity going in our master bath (wish it was bigger) and was wondering if I could do two mirrors above each sink with 3 wall sconces (left of left mirror, centered, and right of right mirror) or if that would be too crowded? I know I would have to find narrow mirrors and narrow sconces. Has anyone done this with success or do you have any suggestions?
This is an inspiration photo I have attached.
Thank you!
