Does anyone remember these from the 80s-90s maybe? Is this an aesthetic? If so let me know!

I remember these silly pictures up at some of my relatives houses growing up in rural KY. They always scared the crap out of me - yet I was always intrigued by them!

Trying to identify this 80s airbrush / retro-futurist illustration style + info on “Gilda Berlin”

I’m trying to dig deeper into a very specific visual aesthetic I love, and I’d really appreciate any insight.

What I’m looking at:

-1980s-style airbrushed (aerographed) illustrations

-Stylized women (often with bold makeup, sharp features, dramatic lighting)

-Bright neon gradients, soft glow effects

-A mix of retro-futurism + surreal/nature elements (sometimes oddly combined)

-Slightly “cheap” or commercial feel...in a charming way

-Strong association with arcade machines / fairground rides / pinball backglass art

What’s confusing me: I keep seeing similar images credited to “Gilda Berlin”, but I can’t find solid information about:

Whether this is a real artist

A pseudonym / alias

A misattribution or shared credit used online

Is there a proper name for this aesthetic/style?

(Closest I’ve found: airbrush art, retro-futurism, 80s commercial illustration but nothing exact)

Is “Gilda Berlin” a known artist, or something else?

Are there well-documented artists who worked in this style?

Any books, archives, magazines, or websites where I can explore more of this?

Keywords that might help: 80s airbrush art, arcade illustration, pinball art, fairground graphics, retro futurism, commercial illustration, neon gradient art

I’d love to go deeper into this rabbit hole~any leads, names, or resources would be amazing. Thanks ✨

What is this fashion style called?

not sure if these collages describes what I am trying to look for. To me, both pics are similar as they share the loose fitted, low effort with the first pic being more whimsical and sweet and the second pic being more muted and elegant. what would you call this overall aesthetic? thanks!!

Is there a name for this aesthetic/vibe

The second picture is from adventure time and the other ones are from the Roblox game: “Dream world”.

What would you call a more modern version of this?

Recently went to this spot and loved the style, very layered and lots of texture- my spouse called it ‘too Victorian’ which was their way of saying it felt to ‘antique’. I’m still really inspired by the space but can’t think of what a more modern version might be and don’t know what key words to search. I was thinking maybe a softer version of new deco?

Messing around and im wondering what aesthetic is this

I had the idea in my head of something characterized by futuristic houses(id normally pick 3d printed houses though that UFO lookin one also fits) in forests looking up at space with nightbirds, drones and/or rockets.

edited 2 images together in paint dot net to illustrate it visually

I bet there already exists an aesthetic similar enough to classify these which is why im asking

AquaLuna: The Period Between Y2K and Frutiger Aero

Aqua

Luna

Royale

Windows Media Player 10

I understand the hesitancy to fully consider this its own aesthetic, the "2K" eras were redundant, but I believe this at least deserves to be considered a subaesthetic. Giving a name to this intermediate/transitional period would reduce the unnecessary arguments/debates regarding what counts as late Y2K or early FA. Let's just call it "AquaLuna."

I posted about it on the Y2K and Frutiger Aero subreddits, and they seem to like the idea.

Here’s my fashion Moodboards that I made (again) What would you name this aesthetic??

The collection is menswear. Consisting mostly of handwoven pieces. Inspired by hussars and the symbolism, aesthetic of decorative military. Re-writing modern masculinity along the way.
