Is it normal to have 95% health retained at 301 cycles?
Been using the Thinborne on my 17 Pro Max for a few days and I get why people like it. It keeps the phone slim and close to the original feel, MagSafe is solid, and the aramid texture feels premium without adding bulk.
That said, I kinda hope Thinborne eventually makes different versions of the case instead of only focusing on the ultra-thin minimalist style. Like maybe:
slightly reinforced version with TPE/TPU side lining and corner cushioning
maybe even a “max protection slim” version that’s still relatively thin but gives more confidence during drops
Because right now, while I really like the case for everyday use, I still wouldn’t fully trust it on harder drops. It’s great for scratches, pocket feel, and keeping the phone lightweight, but there’s barely any shock absorption on the sides/corners. Even a little internal TPE layer would probably improve it a lot without ruining the slim profile.
Also coming from the Philippines, AppleCare really isn’t as accessible here compared to the US, so protection matters more for a lot of us in Asian countries. A cracked Pro Max here is expensive pain lol. That’s honestly why I think there’s a market for a slightly more protective Thinborne variant while still keeping the clean minimalist identity.
Overall though, if your priority is making the Pro Max still feel like a phone instead of a brick, Thinborne definitely nailed that part.
I hope the Ceramic Shield v2 will be strong enough !
Just got the pm, honestly if u don’t have super small hands, it’s the better choice. People really exaggerate the size tbh.
I love it!
After about 6 months with the iPhone Air, I decided to move to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
I genuinely liked the Air. The thinness and weight is what drew me to the phone and I don’t regret trying it at all after years of using Pro Max phones.
Unfortunately, over the last few weeks it started becoming unreliable. I had recurring issues with the power button becoming flush with the phone, making it difficult to lock the device or use Apple Pay consistently. Apple repaired it once, but the issue came back.
At the end of the day, I realized the Air was more of a “hobby phone” for me, while the Pro Max is the device I trust to just work every day.
Looking for a non aramid fiber ultra thin case with an open plateau. Want something grippy. I've owned a totallee and it felt slippery, anyone have experience with the torras slim?
I prefer a silicone rubbery feel for grip, and the totallee was hard and slippery. Is the torras slim any better?
Got a free upgrade through my provider, so excited and happy to get going! Any tips?
Lately, I’ve been seeing sharp drops in battery despite using it more than not. The battery goes down by 1-2% in roughly 5mins. I’m worried.
Hey,
For those of you who previously have seen my posts regarding my failed iPhone 17 Pro Max logic board, welcome back, I have a new unfortunate update. For those of you who haven't brief recap; About a month ago, my iPhone 17 Pro Max crapped out on me and it got stuck in recovery mode. It was repaired under the limited warranty, but when it came back there was a missing top speaker component.
Well I let apple know the piece was missing and they sent another box for me to send it in. When it came back, wouldn't you believe it is still missing. The repair summary ticket erroneously diagnosed the issue stating that it was sent in again for the issue of 'black screen' when it was the missing component piece. Which makes you question, how good is the quality control at the Apple repair centers. I will attach the most recent photo of the phone to this post.
I called last week to report the phone was actually not fixed and we started the process to get another mail-in-order box to me. At this point, I have tech burn out and I'm so over it! I got a pre-paid flip phone from Walmart and forwarded all my calls to it and I almost don't want the iPhone anymore.
For what it's worth, I emailed t cook @ apple since some people have had good luck getting their grievance to Apple senior executive in similar cases of dissatisfying service. As you can assume, I have no luck there too! At this point I can just laugh. Third time I send in this iPhone and I hope this last try is the final one!
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know what you think. In a perfect situation, I want a full refund. Name it, claim it!
i started out with upgrading to the 16 plus (sim edition) in october 2024 then in october 2025 tried a 17pm for a week then felt kind of awkward with an esim phone so i sold the 17pm to a friend at its exact cost and went back the 16 plus. then in january wanted a better camera zoom , pro motion and the always on display so bought a second hand 16pm then changed the battery at the apple store. great phone but i thought huh the 16pm is supposed to be much cooler than the 15pm but … 3 weeks ago summer started inching up and the 16pm was dimming outdoors a lot and would often not charge when that never happened with the 16plus
so i put up the 16pm for sale and bought a 2nd hand 17pm and very happy with it now
recently I have purchased a 17 pro and while shooting a video I saw something. here have a look. this only happens when I shake the camera while shooting on 4x lens on 4k 60fps, and also on 8x, when I switch to 30fps the issue is reduced but not fully gone, but when I shoot the video outside the issue is cometely gone.
what I hav did so far.
turned off and on the enhanced stabilization.
turned off hdr
updated the phone
nothing seems to help, so please if anyone have this kind of issue please do let me know it would help me a lot. Thanks!!
Thin if possible, but prefer camera control. Let me know what you find works well for your everyday. Considering techwoven. Thanks!
This isn’t a complaint as much as a genuine design question. If you have clear icons enabled, when you go into settings, all of the icons are grey. It seems like Apple is trying to make it look consistent with the Liquid Glass icons for apps, but it just looks like grey icons. I also think it makes it more difficult to quickly ID different sections in Settings.
Maybe I’m missing the point of the design but I’m curious what other people think. Again, this isn’t a complaint. It’s an observation.
