Thanks for everything...... doctors changed my life

Non med student here

Who said doctors can't create impact or are evil( I know there will be a few bad examples and greedy docs), but most of you guys want to help, and my life has taken a 180 degree turn.

I was a failure, a dropout , on the doom with career and life.......and one day, on an evening i decided to call the mental health helpline number, they asked me to come down to the state institute of mental health, there I met my first psychiatrist and psychologist, they gave me 40 min of their time and thoroughly analysed everything and gave me a provisional diagnosis of adhd and later i switched to a different teaching hospital and over there they spoke with me and my parents and gave us a bunch of questionnaires to fill and said I have ADHD type C, they gave me medication ( i didn't take it for a week because I was scared to take it), and boom from then there was no looking back, soon they increased and adjusted my dosage and delivery mechanism.

And now I am someone who's doing two bachelors degrees at the same time and preparing for upsc and in both the bachelor sem 1 i scored more than 90 percent (91 in one and the other 94). I was always a 50 percent student infact i failed in 12th and dropped out of bachelors

I don't know how much this means to you guys(hopefully it motivates you people or makes you smile atleast)or i might just be another psychiatric patient, but for me it changed my whole life, it feels like a new life started at the age of 23 and all this learning and studying is new for me

i didn't know something as small as two pills can make me go from a failure to one of the toppers in the whole state university and infact i am doing so good with the upsc prep my friends who have been preparing for years feel i am doing a lot better than them in just 3 months, i wanna cry but I'll not

Thank you and i love you people ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻

Guys got a question before starting tomorrow

Doctor wants to start my dad (age 60, male, 5 feet 6 inches 80kgs). He has type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, hypertension diabetes and hypertension and lipids seem to be controlled on meds he is on (gemerdapa 10/2/500, telma h, rosuvastatin f).

And also wants to start my mom(age 52) on it for weight she's 5 feet and weighs almost 100kgs, she has hypothyroidism and a lot of inflammation outbreaks in terms of skin rashes.

Worried about a few posts I read on reddit about people getting thyroid cancer after using these meds for a few months to an year

Doc is considering semaglutide (ozempic)

This book called "a brief history of modern India", this stuff is amazing, I mean it makes modern history so darn Clear and easy to understand that in the first read itself i understood so much and my accuracy in modern history is now greater than 90% in prelims type questions......I was skeptical and worried about modern history but spectrum made it so easy that I feel modern history is child's play, like kuch nahi hai bhai isme spectrum made it dead easy, it has everything from explanations to summary to quotes and additional info.....the best investment of time so far in books i thought tamil Nadu ancient and mediaeval were amazing but spectrum just makes everything vanish into the background 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐......this is the goated book

This is what I would do:

Honestly in 1 year it's hard to do anything, unless all that's in your mind is corruption (even corruption is hard in first year because....lack of connections)

SDM-too low small you just need to follow the orders, so will try to execute the orders and maintain solidarity

DC/DM - still gonna be hard to navigate stuff in a year but what ever time permits, will try my best to communicate with people and see what they need and try to talk about it with the local representatives (mla/mp), and do what ever i can

Secretary - it's a mess cause it'll almost take months to learn about that department let alone start working on the problems in it..... Will try to gather as much information as I can and collect data and possible solutions from the concerned minister and various other people in the department(example iaas(for accounts) ,engineers, lower level employees, public grievance officers .....etc). And will pass this file to the next IAS who's gonna come as a secretary (also train a junior ias officer the department to help them out) and if it's a chill department with minimal corruption, will make the minister and Ally and will actually try to improve the functioning of the department/ministry, even if i don't I can atleast give a solid blue print for someone who's willing to work saving them time... If it's a corrupt department just stay quiet and do what ever little stuff is possible to improve the department
