SFU Econ vs Beedie difficult

Got into SFU Econ (FASS) after not getting into Beedie, and I’m trying to decide my path.

Is SFU Econ actually harder than Business? I heard UBC Econ gets insanely hard from 3rd year? does SFU Econ feel the same?

Also, would it be better to go to Langara and try to transfer into Beedie instead of trying internal transfer or staying in Econ?

How difficult is it to transfer from Econ to Beedie at SFU?

Also, is it true that econ degree is as competetive as beedie in the job market?

Econ>Beedie transfer

I am a Grade 12 student deciding between Langara and SFU Arts. How difficult is it to internally transfer from Economics to Beedie? Is it more challenging than transferring from Langara? If I choose Langara, I can apply to four programs: UBC Arts, SFU Beedie, and SFU Arts(maybe also ubc sauder , but too competitive)However, if I fail to get into even SFU Arts, it would be the worst-case scenario since I already have an offer for SFU Arts this fall.

Another concern I have is the social and networking aspect. I’ve heard that university life is as much about networking as it is about grades. I’m worried that if I transfer from Langara later, it might be difficult to integrate into an established community or catch up with networking opportunities compared to students who started at SFU as freshmen. Does being a transfer student put me at a significant disadvantage for networking in uni?

Hi, I'm moving locally in Victoria(1km)and need recommendations for reliable movers.

I’m worried about driving a 20ft U-Haul myself, so I'd prefer professionals who are careful and reasonably priced.

Any recent experiences or price estimates (hourly rates) would be greatly appreciated.

Key items:

2 beds, sofa, 2 dressers, dining table, 8 chairs, 2 desks. 65" TV (have the original box). Up right freezer, Pull up bar, walking pad

~10 boxes.

Would using U-Haul be a good idea for moving my stuff?

Got an SFU offer and need to accept residence by May 1 with a $700 non-refundable deposit. I’m still deciding between Langara and SFU.

If I don’t accept now, is it really hard to get residence in June? Worth paying just to secure a spot?

Any advice?

Hi, I’m an incoming first-year student and I’m about to accept my residence offer. I’ve been assigned to West/East Tower.

In the contract, it mentions that there is nearby construction and that requests to move out due to construction noise are non-refundable, which made me a bit concerned.

Is the construction right next to the East/West Towers? And how bad is the noise in reality?

I’m seriously considering giving up my SFU offer and going to Langara to prepare for a transfer to UBC.

I keep hearing that transferring from Langara to UBC Arts is “relatively easy,” and I’ve noticed that quite a few strong students who narrowly missed UBC seem to choose Langara as well. That makes me wonder— is it really as manageable as people say?

Since grading is not curved (more like criterion-based), does that make it easier to get a high GPA? Or is the competition still pretty tough in reality?

I’m planning to take an online Calc 12 course b4 starting uni, and was wondering if finishing it within 4 months is enongh.

My pre cal12 grade is mid-90s, but I’m not sure how heavy the workload is for the online version.

Has anyone completed Calc 12 online in about 4 months? Was it manageable?

Hi, I’m deciding between SFU Arts and Langara Business Management. My goal is to transfer to UBC (Arts, maybe Sauder later).

I know Langara is better for transfer, but I’m worried about failing and ending up with just a college diploma.

-What’s the UBC Arts transfer acceptance rate?

-What GPA is safe?

-Can I build ECs at Langara and aim for Sauder?(very weak ecs during hs)

-Is SFU transfer at least a safe backup?

-Is Business Management at Langara okay for transfer, or is Commerce & business study(which seems like specifically designed for transfer, right?) a better choice?

Any advice appreciated!
