Switching from Xfinity to Optimum Fiber questions and plan of action.

Hi everyone, I will be making the switch from Xfinity to Optimum Fiber. I have a couple of questions as well as an action plan when switching.

  • I currently have the XB8 Xfinity gateway which is great and the Wi-Fi range is awesome. How is the Gateway provided by Optimum Wi-Fi range wise?
  • I need to have a Gateway that I can split the bands 2.4 GHZ 5GHZ, I have read different things about the Gateway Optimum provides. My Xfinity gateway I split my bands 2.4, 5 and 6 GHZ Is this possible with Optimum's Gateway.
  • My plan is to keep the same SSID's I currently have with my XB8 modem, so I don't have to go in and reconnect all my IOT devices such as my Google Doorbell, ADT Cameras and my Garage door open with is MyQ.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Optimum Fiber now in my area.$50 a month for 5 years.

I currently have XFINITY 2GB plan and I have to say it’s been rock solid. I am locked in for 5 years at $105 a month.

Optimum has recently gone live with Fiber 2GB symmetrical in my town for $50 a month for 5 years.

Want to talk with a XFINITY rep in here to discuss possibly lowering my bill.

$65 a month savings for fiber is too good to pass up but willing to talk to XFINITY about keeping me:

I current have the the yearly upgrade SOC, where I can upgrade my iPhone every year for free.

When the iPhone Fold comes out it will cost significantly more than my current iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Will I still get the iPhone Fold free or will I have to pay the difference in price.

I can get 2GB fiber for $50 for five years. It is symmetrical. I have been a customer with XFINITY for 17 years but pay $105 for 2GB down and 300GB up.

My XFINITY service has been rock solid but $60 a month in savings plus 2GB symmetrical is hard to pass up.

Can and XFINITY rep help me reduce my monthly rate?
