I recently set up a Fiverr profile but so far it’s only been a magnet for bots. I’m looking for advice from seniors on how to break into the "human" side of the marketplace.

During my time at university, I've designed several posters, advertisements, and social media graphics. I’m comfortable with Canva and want to turn this into a side gig, but I'm struggling to get any real traction.

I have a few questions:

1. Saturation vs. Demand: Is the "Social Media Design" or "Poster Design" niche too crowded for a new seller in 2026? Should I be narrowing down to a more specific industry?

2. Strategy: What’s the best way to showcase university-level work in a portfolio to attract professional buyers?

3. Translation: I’ve seen some seniors say translation pays well. Since I’m trilingual (English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese), is that a viable path for me to take too, or should I stick to design?

4. Stopping Bots: Does the bot spam ever end, or is there a specific way to set up my gig that signals I'm only looking for serious, non-automated inquiries?
