Hey guys looking to get a daily car I understand these are not very easy to maintain compared to proton etc, but just wondering which do you think is the best option in terms of reliability and will not be a endless money pit, in expecting like 5-7K a year in maintenance am I close? Would appreciate feedback from past owners really like the X1 or any alternatives around the 30-40K range….

hello guys, i have basically bought Myvi AV not even 1 month and there's few issues occured like car tend to shake or making loud sound when changing gear from P to D and i have brought it to nearby service shop and they say gearbox gonna spoilt although its a new car. My player auto restart every 10-15 mins while driving car. My brake that day went until fully inside when on traffic light and thank god there isn't any issues. So, I have called my sales person and he told service centre can replace the gearbox for free as its under warranty but i worried things might start to have problem once gearbox changed. Do yall think its a good choice to change gearbox and fix it service centre or is there any chance to request an entire car replacement as its a new car and not even 1 month .. appreciate your advices 🙏

been seeing a ton of posts in here lately about guys getting ripped off by shops throwing expensive parts at a problem, or lazy foremen just saying a clunking noise is "biasa je" and to ignore it.
9 times out of 10, that mystery vibration or ngong ngong sound isn't a massive overhaul, it's just a cheap worn-out bushing, a dry pin, or a collapsed engine mount. workshops just don't like fixing them because pressing bushings is tedious work.
i'm a mechanic with some downtime today. if u guys have a mystery squeak, rattle, or vibration that a shop couldn't fix—or if u are holding a crazy expensive quote right now—drop your car model and symptoms below or just shoot me a dm. i'll tell u exactly what to check so u don't get chopped. drive safe 🛠️
Came across this ads on FB marketplace. Very good condition inside and out. So I just wonder, how is the maintenance for this car?
Adjust the seat, check the mirrors, judge their music taste, quietly assess how clean it is . We all have our thing. What's yours and does it say anything about you?
Currently have 2 cars at home. x50 and x70 (wife's), reason why is because we recently got married so technically we have 2 cars now. Staying in landed with 3 pins socket available at both side of walls. Current major commitment is just my x50 with RM44k left at about RM950 repayment a month. Just checked my car value at ~55k in mudah (haven't go to carsome or what not to check, realistically probably lower but likely higher than my remaining loan).
Reason to change: Wife daily commute is 70+km round trip and we all know how much of a guzzler is x70. Mine is 22+km. Also afraid of the war and govt pulling budi95 out, currently haven't exceed yet at the 200l allowance. The emas5 will be used for city driving only and x70 for myself to work and longer commute like other states etc.
Please let me know if my thought process makes sense!

I saw this driving around in KL last Sunday. Perodua Q-VE, someone really have the money to pay the installments and the battery rental at the same time.
Note: I purposely didn't cover up the number plate because i want to know how many people saw this car. Since the number of sales is so low, i was wondering if this is the sole car that everyones sees or there are others that are privately owned (not showrooms units).

Hi after doing a lot of research for my first car, I fell in love with the Mazda 3. I have my loan approved for a brand new 2026 with 30% down payment on a 7 year loan. I am single with no major commitments. According to my calculations, the total cost of ownership is well within good means.
BUT I am a sucker for a good value. The thought of my cash disappearing away thanks to depreciation scares me. I found a few listings for 1.5 and 2.0 versions from 2020-2022 that are attractive.
Is there anything I should be wary of? Or just go brand new?
