AI-generated product images are widening the "trust gap". how are u guys fixing buyer hesitation?

coming from a small town where ecom is surprisingly active, i get to see a very specific problem up close: buyers are hesitating more than ever because they just dont trust what they see online anymore.

now that perfect ai-generated product images are everywhere, the trust gap feels huge. a polished image makes a product look beautiful, but it doesnt make it feel real. people worry the size is off or the quality wont match the listing.

im seeing stores experiment with different things to fix this. some use insane amounts of ugc, while others are starting to use digital humans/live avatars to provide a human-like size reference and a quick visual demo.

for those battling this trust gap, how are you proving your products are real? does adding a visual demo layer (like a quiet ai rep that only speaks when clicked) actually build trust, or do you strictly stick to raw, unedited iphone photos?

I bought myself the most boring 32nd birthday gift ever and I've literally never been happier

Turned 32 over the weekend. normally I’d use my bday as an excuse to buy some jewelry or go out for a nice dinner. But this year I realized I’ve officially crossed into the phase of life where household appliances bring me more joy.

I rent a pretty small apartment and I air-dry a lot of my clothes and towels on a rack in my bedroom. especially over the winter, its been miserable.

Everything takes two full days to dry, the windows get completely fogged up, and my whole room constantly has this heavy damp musty smell. it literally felt like I was sleeping in a swamp.

I finally decided I couldn't take it anymore and splurged on a dehumidifier (the KeepGlad one in the pic) as my gift to myself.

Parked it right next to the drying rack and it’s pulling a terrifying amount of water out of the air. my clothes dry overnight now and they dont smell weird. The room actually feels crisp instead of sticky for the first time in months.

I know it’s just a plastic box that collects water but feeling comfortable in my own apartment again is definitely the best present I could have asked for.

I guess I'm officially old now. tell me about the most unromantic practical thing you bought yourself that fixed a stupid daily problem so I don't feel like a total weirdo.

What’s a “normal” thing everyone accepts that actually feels like a low-key scam?

BIL said my basement office smells musty. I told him he was crazy, but now I'm panicking. what's the actual checklist?

If you could design the perfect hearing aid, what would it do differently?
