I'm about to give up finding a bench seat model that's not completely clapped out

I'm about to sell my 2012 Honda Fit 5 speed because I am too tall for it (but love the car!). I'm praying to find a 2002-2004 model XL that isn't garbage that somebody has taken good care of. Does this unicorn exist?

I got a good bit done today - Southeast USA

I finally had a chance to get my French Provincial dresser cleaned up today and didn't have to do very much to it. Looking good so far! Hope everybody's having a great week!

Had to sell my first project car 36 years ago

Boy, did I cry when the tow truck took this baby out of my driveway 36 years ago. I had no job and no good prospects so I had to sell my 1949 Buick Special - my first project car that I worked on for almost 3 years - so I could make it. Pretty humbling, but I learned a lot through that trial. Now that I'm retired maybe I can find something like that again - easy to work on and smooth riding!

Good ol' Snapper Hi-Vac and more for $28

A couple of weeks ago I won an auction that apparently nobody else wanted to take a chance on, so I picked up this old school Snapper Hi-Vac, 3 blades, a Craftsman chainsaw, another Oregon chainbar, a wrench and 3 plastic gas cans plus a metal 5 gallon can for $28. Got it home and the air filter was full of dirt, so I shot some starter fluid in it and it fired right up. I cut the backyard with it and parked it so a friend of mine can come get it. Pretty blessed!

Cool older tricycles I found the other day

I picked up a Radio Flyer Retro Red and an AMF Junior set of tricycles the other day. The AMF is pretty rough, but the Retro Red is in good shape except for the chrome on the handlebars in spots. Most of the rust is coming off but it looks pretty pitted in some places.

I didn't realize you can still order pedals for the Retro Red, so I got a set and a pair of handgrips with streamers 😁

Anything I can do to the chrome on the handlebars to hide the pitting?

Thinking about letting go of my 2012 5 speed ONLY because I’m 6’-6” and can’t go more than 3 hours without having to stop to unfold to stretch

I truly love my little 2012 5 speed that I’ve had less than a year, but doggone it, as much as I’ve tried to make it work for me, I can’t drive the thing more than 3 hours without having to stop to unfold to stretch. I can pretty easily drive my 2007 Tundra on long trips because it obviously has much more room, but the best mileage I can get on it is around 19mpg vs. the 35 or more with the Fit. I think it’s the combination of the seat not being super comfortable even after trying different cushions plus the way it hits me in the thighs that feels weird after a while. Taking 4 trips of 2 to 3 hours in the last month have driven me to this conclusion, but obviously around town this thing is perfect.

I only have 94K on it and just spent a good bit a few weeks ago to get all of the 100K maintenance and more taken care of because I take care of my cars well. I don’t want to regret letting it go, but I think I’d be more suited to get a good Toyota Avalon with as low miles as I can find in decent shape since it gets good mileage and is highly reliable. I had 2 Pontiac Bonnevilles years ago and loved them because they had so much room in them, but I’d rather put the money into something that’s more of a sure thing as far as reliability now.

I don’t want to have to hassle with Facebook Marketplace, but that may be the overall best way to sell it - I’ll make sure they know to meet me at the local police station to insure safety for both of us. Give me some feedback on what you think and how I ought to go about selling it in this market.

Shot my 9mm carbine so well today that I ordered a 10mm 1095

I hadn't shot my 9mm carbine in a while, so I took it out today and shot great with it. So well that I decided to order a 10mm 1095. Can't wait to get it in!

I just ordered an oversized roller kit for it since they work so well. I want an inexpensive front forward grip for it, and what else would you recommend?

I'm 6'-6" and I have a great 2007 Tundra that I take on trips because it has (much) better legroom than my 2012 Honda Fit 5 speed that I bought last year for 2 hour and under trips. I'm happy with the 32+mpg of the Fit, but I could possibly sell it to buy an Avalon in the $8000 neighborhood that would be much better for leg and headroom, I'm sure.

I haven't even sat in an Avalon, but I see some rare models have bench seats and column shifters. That seems it could be a really good alternative for me to drive around town while keeping mileage off the Tundra and getting 20+mpg.

What models would you recommend for me? I had a 2000 Solara convertible that was the best vehicle I've ever had before I bought my truck, so I know how dependable older Toyotas are.

Thank you so much for your recommendations and your help!

This is my second auction win but not quite as inexpensive as my $9 Lane Cedar Chest 😁 The French Provincial dresser should be very nice and may not need anything but cleaning up. The chair shouldn't need much, either, but I thought I would check with the experts to see how I did.

I picked up this Lane Cedar Chest last week in my first auction buy since I retired. It's a little rough and looks like somebody tried staining it a little darker years ago because there's stain on the latch button (no key but they have a piece of wood in the latch area so it doesn't lock). Since then they scratched it up and I thought I would put some Restor-a-Finish to it and just keep it. Any other ideas? Definitely worth $9 😁

I won these 2 pieces in an estate auction pretty cheap and plan to pick them up tomorrow. It's the first furniture auction I have planned to flip. How well should I do? The French Provincial dresser is pretty immaculate, and the chair is nice as well.
