Scalloped tongue/ grinding/burning mouth

Scalloped tongue/ grinding/burning mouth

My tongue is scalloped like this on both sides but moreso this side, when I stick my tongue out. I’ve also been having burning mouth syndrome. Do you think the two are related? Or is this tongue appearance normal? My bite is kind of messed up (anterior open bite) as you can see in the teeth pics. As a young adult my front teeth flared out a bit. Around that time my gums also receded due to bruxism, per Dentist. Awaiting a dental appointment but wondered if anyone had thoughts or suggestions of what to ask.

Nightguard fit issues causing relapse of burning mouth?

I had bad TMD for years which triggered burning mouth syndrome. I had those horrible symptoms for at least 3 years. Once I got an acrylic night guard my symptoms all went away. Used that (now ugly and yellowed) night guard for 13 years and now that it cracked, I got a new one and I’m miserable again. The new one only makes contact on the back two molars. The old one met 8 bottom teeth and was more streamline. The old one seems shallower, where the new one is steeper and doesn’t have a graduated surface for my teeth in the front to match up with like the old one did. I did bring the new one back to my Dentist for adjusting, but I guess this was the best they could do. I do have an open bite, so know that’s not ideal for fitting.

My question is- do you think a General Dentist can help figure this fitting issue out or do I need to see a Dentist who specializes in TMD (which I’m sure will cost much more money). I really want one that will fit me right because I know this pain and I don’t want it for years again.

Nightguard- new one

This one has a lot less contact- only my two back molars versus 8 total teeth on my old one. My Dental hygienist tried to grind it down more, but it isn’t fitting the way I’d hoped. Im having sensitivity and jaw popping. I’m seeing a new Dentist soon, but any pointers on how to address this with him?

Nightguard fit- old one

This is the nightguard that has worked for me for 13 years but it’s recently broken at the back side. 8 of the bottom teeth make contact with it. I got a new one I’ll post in my next post, where only 4 teeth are now making contact.

# of Teeth contact on night guard

How many bottom teeth should make contact with a night guard that sits on the upper? I had an old guard that 8 of my lower teeth would meet, and the new one I just received only meets 4 (back two molars on each side). I am having burning pain and itching pain throughout my teeth. I have an appointment scheduled with my dentist but just wondered. The old one worked fine for me it was just cracked recently. :(

I’ve been using the same night guard for 13 years which cured my TMD/burning mouth syndrome which I had suffered with for 3 years. However, it broke and the backup new one I have is not working for me. The original one was missing a molar but my bite is so much more even on it. The new one looks great but all the pressure lands on that missing molar area now! Do I stick it out with this new one or try and get a new nightguard more in the shape of the old one? I have an appt with my Dentist soon.

I have an acrylic upper nightguard that has worked for me for 13 years despite looking like a lopsided horseshoe (missing last molar on the right side). Prior to that had debilitating headaches, jaw pain, and burning mouth syndrome. Everything resolved once I started using the nightguard. I just got a new nightguard and it’s of course even (no missing molar) but it seems now all of the pressure is on that particular molar! one of my bottom right molars is the only place it hit. And I have all my old terrible symptoms back again. I’m going back to my general Dentist to see what he thinks soon. I do wonder if I need to just rough it out and try to have my teeth correct to the more correct LOOKING nightguard or if I should figure out a way to have an uneven one made again. I also am going to ask about a daytime retainer because the burning and painful sensations are making my tongue want to push on my front teeth where it feels most uncomfortable and I’m worried I’m going to shift them out of place (this happened when I initially had symptoms and I developed an open bite from a slight overbite)

Does anyone also suffer from burning mouth? I began having symptoms of burning mouth (burning gums, lips, tongue) in 2009 and once I got situated with an acrylic nightguard my symptoms pretty much went away. So did my headaches. I also had tooth loosening and shifting which also stopped. I had a new nightguard made in 2013 when the old one was breaking, and then a few days ago that one broke so began using a new one (had it made a while back since the 2013 one was starting to really age). Now that I’m using the new nightguard my burning symptoms are back and I’m very discouraged. I’m hoping that once my teeth get used to this guard things will improve. I have a cleaning scheduled in 2 weeks. I will ask them to check out the new guard. Anyway, just feel pretty alone in this so wanted to see if anyone else experiences this too.

I am so new to skincare and treatments. I am 36F. I have this one stubborn eleven line on the left. What do I have to do to erase it? Botox/filler?

I was on 5mg lexapro for a year, and in September, decided to try and wean. Was battling constipation the entire time I was on it, and my anxiety was managed well enough I figured I was ready to try and wean. I began cutting my dose to 2.5mg in September. Dr recommended I do that for 2 weeks, then stop taking it completely after that. I noticed headaches so continued on the 2.5mg until January when I cut down to 2.5mg every other day. Then after 2 weeks, stopped completely. Anyway, my pgad symptoms started in November, and I realize now maybe it’s related to the weaning. Anyone with experience with this, I would love to know your insight (especially those who were fortunate enough to recover). Peace and healing to you all!!

Did anyone’s PGAD journey start from an orgasm? I had vague symptoms in Nov, that worsened 100% after masturbating, then did 5 months of pelvic floor therapy and abstaining from any kind of orgasm. I was finally feeling better for a few weeks and tried self pleasuring again and seems like it got triggered and I’m so mad at myself because I feel like I’m back at square one. Symptoms I have are persistent discomfort in my clitoral area and feeling like I always need to pee. Coincidentally (or not) this all started as I fully weaned from escitalopram which is an SSRI.
