I hope Subnautica 2 really encourages player to "I gotta figure out how to find/get stuff" thought process, rather than jumping to Wiki

Subnautica 1 requiring player to listen to an audiolog, on how to aquire Stalker teeth is honestly one of the highlights of the game.

I really hope Subnautica 2 leans more into that.

The most common problem players come across is finding the specific blueprint, or material, and thus Wiki, and a map is too often a very big shortcut.

Another example would be the player entering the Mushroom Forest, and PDA says it detects Alterra vehicles. So what's your best bet on finding vehicle blueprints? Mushroom Forest.

I hope SN2 does stuff like this more often.

This might be a hot take, but I really hope SN2 avoid the PRAWN suit problem

While we all love PRAWN suit for being fast, sturdy, and versatile, the moment you build one the game loses half of it's appeal - the fear factor.

If you're unaware of the power you now possess you may still think leviathans are a threat, but once you realize they're not your mindset completely changes.

Biomes like Dunes, Crash Zone, Mountains stop being high risk high reward, because you're literally unkillable at this point; Reapers can't outdamage you countering and repairing the suit.

Lower biomes, like Lost River and Lava Zone are also not dangerous if you put in minimum effort.

I get that the player should become stronger as time goes on, be able to take on the threats of the planet, but they're not dangerous at all. Stuff like torpedo arm is useless for keeping Leviathans at bay, because you can charge at them and drill their brain out until they retreat.

I really hope SN2 avoids such powerful tools.
