Motel 2 on US 52 in 1990’s.

I have a very vague memory of a place that I visited when I was a child. I don’t think it’s there anymore. I can’t find a single reference to it on the Internet. But I’d like to know where exactly I was when I was at this place.

Sometime between probably 1992 and 1995 my dad and I were driving on US 52. Probably headed east. It was dark and it was absolutely pouring rain where you couldn’t see anything more than a few feet in front of the car.

Right on the right side of US 52 we came upon a hotel and decided to stop for the night. The hotel was small, but it was brand new. It hadn’t even officially opened yet, but they let us stay there because of the weather. The couple who owned it lived either in one of the hotel rooms or in a house next-door.

The name of the place was Motel 2 and I believe it was a white building. Like I said if we were headed east on 52 it was on the right hand side of the road and I believe when you turned off of 52 you went slightly downhill to the hotel. I also vaguely think that it was somewhere near where you would turn south off 52 to go to Matewan.

Also on that trip we stayed at other hotels I haven’t been able to locate:
-Greenbrier Motel (not hotel) that was not far from the other Greenbrier
-Country Music Hotel in the downtown of some city that was near a building made out of coal.

I recently started using TaskRabbit again for leads. It’s been slow going to get myself ranked back higher in the algorithm where I’m actually getting booked for work.

Today, for the second time in about a month, I received a warning from TaskRabbit saying that I was declining too many IKEA tasks. Problem is, I haven’t received a single IKEA request. I’ve been booked a few times for furniture assembly, but never for IKEA.

So there may be one or two problems going on here. Either there’s something wrong where I’m just not receiving IKEA tasks or I am receiving them, but they don’t show up in the app and somehow they are automatically declining themselves which is hurting me in the algorithm. I’m not sure what to do here. I’m in Boston and apparently we don’t have a Tasker success manager here.

I do furniture assembly. Most of my leads come from Taskrabbit, but I’m trying to get some leads on my own.

I’d say over the past few years I’ve done several hundred furniture assembly jobs off-platform. Until today, no one has ever asked me for references. I don’t have any prepared and I was shocked to be asked for them as I’ve completed this many and no one else has ever asked.

Since I don’t have any prepared, in this specific case, I think I’m going to decline the task. The job is an hour away and it’s building one piece. But now that this has been brought up, I’m wondering about future jobs.

Do you supply references to prospective clients? How often are you asked for them?

I had a promotion where I’d earn extra points and an elite night credit. When the points were added, I saw that my point total increased and my Nights this Year increased by one.

Where exactly should I see the elite night credit represented?

Does it not add an extra day to your yearly total? Or is it just toward Lifetime Status progress?

I looked at the city’s Facebook page where they announce closures but there’s nothing on there.
