Just for a little back story, I’m a 37 year old who finally decided to pull the trigger. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I couldn’t to do it when I was younger. I hold a bachelors degree in psychology (cum laude), 27 credits towards my masters in Health Psychology, and decent supervisory / leadership experience.

To be frank, I think USAF is a better fit in terms of my personality and overall quality of life but the Army sounds like the better option on paper. Here’s why:

\-I would start as an E4 in the Army vs. E3 in the Air Force.

\-I would pick my preferred job in the Army, the Air Force gives you a job based on their needs.

\-I could submit a package to commission for officer in both branches but from what I’ve gathered, the Air Force is extremely selective. At this point in my life I don’t have too much time on my side. This pathway seems more feasible for me in the Army.

I am humbly requesting some honest advice as like I mentioned before, I don’t have too much time on my side.

Thank you.

For context, I’m already working with a recruiter (USAF) who also recruits for the Space Force. He told me that “all the jobs in the Space Force require a top secret clearance.” I don’t believe that to be true, to the best of my knowledge. For more context, I’m a dual citizen and I am not going to renounce my motherland citizenship.
