are GSBs SBs who migrated from north to coastal regions of the country?

If so, are the indigenous punjabi, kashmiri and himachali brahmins technically saraswat? what’s their history and what brought about the existence of this particular brahmin sect? i’m aware they lived on the coast of river saraswati but i just need a little more info as im trying to educate myself better on the history of my ancestors. i’ve always been very curious about this. i’m asking about Saraswat brahmins only not GSBs, i’ve friends who are GSBs and i love hearing about their traditions, and the similarities between. So if anyone has the time and resources to answer kindly lmk.

also let me make myself very clear im not trying to discriminate/ hate on anyone here i just genuinely have been very curious about this, i know nobody who’s an SB and knows anything about it, most of family has seemed to forgotten we even are. they just know the name saraswat nothing else. 😭😭

thank you 🙏
