Already asked this but posting again for visibility:

Hi neighbors, this is a long shot but I’m desperate and hoping someone might have camera footage.

My parked car was hit badly on Rodney near Finley on Friday 4/24 around 6:49 PM. A witness saw a blue pickup truck hit the back corner of my car, back up, and drive away toward Finley/Vermont. I have security camera footage, but the plate is too blurry to make out.

The truck appears to be a 2024/2025 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab in blue, a pretty distinctive color and fairly new truck.

If anyone on Rodney, Finley, or nearby streets has Ring or security camera footage from around 6:45 to 6:55 PM, I would be so grateful if you could check. It doesn’t need to show the crash, even a clearer shot of the truck passing by or a partial plate could make all the difference.

Photos and footage here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MLFLPx1uBNHfVYcJVQElLq\_zvdt8gVwW

A few things I want to be upfront about so nobody wastes their time suggesting it: I’ve already filed a police report and an insurance claim, neither can move forward without an ID on the driver. I don’t have collision coverage. I can’t afford a lawyer. I’m actively canvassing the neighborhood for cameras but it’s a residential street with no businesses, so I’m relying on neighbors. I’m not asking anyone to do anything except check your own footage.

No note was left. Any help at all means the world. Thank you.

Hi all! I was in a hit and run and looking to zoom into a video to see a license plate of the person who did it (the photo included is just one still from the video but I have a whole folder of stuff). My car is totaled and if I don’t find them I get nothing. I know people are going to say “just say enhance at it” or “that’s only in csi” but there are characters there’s just some motion blur and it needs to be upscaled. I have seen some videos where people have done this exact thing with similar photos using video cleaner, photoshop, amped five etc.

please reach out if you are interested. I can give you the material and you can decide if you want to work on it.

Even if you aren’t willing to do it, some layman’s advice on what tools I can use would be great. Thanks so much in advance!!

hi redditors please help me.

my parked car was hit in a hit-and-run on friday. as you’ll see in the footage, the truck smashed into my car, didn’t stop, didn’t get out to check, and drove straight off.

my car is completely totaled, and I don’t have collision coverage, so identifying this truck is basically the difference between “insurance can pursue someone” and “I eat the entire loss myself,” which would be financially brutal.

the security footage is just blurry enough that I can’t confidently read the plate. I put together a folder with the raw footage, fleeing clip, plate stills, and vehicle stills here:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MLFLPx1uBNHfVYcJVQElLq_zvdt8gVwW

the vehicle appears to be a dark blue pickup, possibly a Toyota Tacoma. there is no visible front plate. the rear plate is visible in a few frames, but it’s extremely blurry. an AI-enhanced version produced a possible read, but I’m worried it may have hallucinated details, so I’m looking for human eyes / forensic video nerds / car people who can help determine what is actually defensible from the original footage.

I’m looking for help with:

  1. possible plate characters or plate format
  2. make/model/year range
  3. whether the AI-enhanced plate read looks real or invented
  4. any useful observations I can pass to police/insurance

please do not contact, accuse, or harass anyone. I’m only trying to identify the vehicle and pass credible leads through the proper channels.

please reddit heroes. I need your help 🙏

Hi neighbors… this is a long shot, but I’m hoping someone might have camera footage.

My parked car was hit really badly on Rodney near Finley on Friday 4/24 around 6:49 PM. A witness saw a blue pickup truck hit the back corner of my car, back up, and drive away toward Finley/Vermont. I have some video, but the plate is too blurry to read.

If anyone on Rodney, Finley, or nearby has Ring/security footage from around 6:45–6:55 PM that might show a blue pickup driving by, I would be incredibly grateful if you could check. It doesn’t need to show the crash, even a clearer shot of the truck or plate could help a lot.

No note was left, and I’m trying to identify the driver for the police report/insurance. I don’t have collision so it isn’t covered unless I can ID the driver. Thank you so much.
