Hello everyone after having my dashcam for a year, I have upgraded my car. The window mount is no longer very sticky. Whats the best way to apply it to the new car? If it matters, I have a Viofo A119 mini 2.

my mother is paranoid about someone pulling an insurance scam on her and wants a dashcam.

The problem here is she has ZERO technological skill and no one local to help her figure it out every day when she forgets how to do things.

If you teach her, she doesn't remember she has a learning disability. (not bashing my mother just explaining the need for the type of cam I am searching for).

Is there a dashcam that can be installed that she never will have to touch again? Think like a Nest doorbell where motions, doorbell rings, cars, and people pop up and then it goes to the cloud automatically via wifi. I am okay footing the bill for a 5G service to automatically upload the cam video to the cloud.

She doesn't really understand how to use her smartphone for apps and all. Shes one who mixes up using sending an email thinking it was a text. I appreciate any insight and dashcam suggestions.

Have a 2012 Sierra and was wondering if the tailgate handle camera can be used for the rear dash camera instead of backup camera? I don't currently have a backup camera but was going to purchase the bezel and camera and install for dash cam.

I’m shopping for a two channel dash cam for a G Wagon arriving soon and want to get this right from the start—especially for parking coverage.

I’ve done some initial research and am currently leaning toward BlackVue (DR970X-2CH) or Thinkware (U3000), paired with a dedicated battery pack (BlackVue B-130X, Cellink Neo, etc.), but would really value real-world feedback from those running these setups in Mercedes vehicles.

Key priorities:

• Strong video quality (especially night / low light)

• Reliable parking mode (motion/impact detection vs continuous recording)

• Clean OEM-like install (no visible wiring, minimal interior disruption)

• Battery-based system (avoid draining vehicle battery)

A few things I’d love input on:

• What exact setup are you running (camera + battery pack)?

• Realistically, how long does your parking mode last?

• Any issues with CAN bus, battery management, or errors?

• For those with LTE/cloud models—actually useful, or more of a gimmick?

• Any installers you’d strongly recommend (or avoid)?

Contexts: car will likely be parked both in garage and public settings, so consistent parking monitoring matters more than driving footage.

Appreciate any insights—would rather invest once and do it properly than redo the system later.

Does anyone have any recommendations on mounting FX3 inside vehicle dashboard? Is it better to mount on windshield or dashboard? Ideally, I’d like to be able to have ability to rotate camera to see the road and also to see guests in car. Would appreciate any recommendations! Thank you all!

My F7NP was working hardwired but began killing my car battery going into a bootloop with the car on and off. Every time it starts up it spams the ACC off the Power off screen. Seems to be wired correctly and updated the firmware, factory reset it too. SD card is fine. Works fine on regular power, but goes into bootloop hardwired (seemingly out of no where it worked fine for a year)
