What do you think of Avril Lavigne?

I think she's one of the most, if not the most influential female rock artist of the last 25 years. She has influenced so many artists including Paramore, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Hey Monday, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, many K Pop artists as well as Rina Sawayama, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, etc.

She will be eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2027.She might not get in early, but what do you think of her being inducted someday?

Some people in the late '90s and early '00s thought the internet was an overhyped idea doomed to fizzle, as seen from this article dated December 5th 2000.

What do you think of Olivia Rodrigo's discography so far and what are your expectations for her upcoming third album later this year?

I personally think all her albums so far have been very good and I can't wait for the next one - the lead single of the upcoming album was just fine, not bad but just alright, but I am hopeful the next album will also be good.

Which artists/bands released their best or one of their best albums last into their career?

Judas Priest nailed it with Firepower 50 years into their career.I don't think this album has any bad songs and Rob sounds amazing. The band is on fire too.

Judas Priest also performs amazing live even after over 50 years. Both old and new stuff sounds amazing in concert.

Late into their career *

What's the most millennial concert you've gone to?

I have two such concerts I've been to.

  1. Avril Lavigne's Greatest Hits Tour was pretty awesome. She has so many hits that she played, she sang brilliantly and even brought fans on stage, gave away free merchandise(a $100 skateboard) and even through some other merchandise into the audience, sang with them and even took pictures with the fans on stage.Pierre, from Simple Plan joined her on stage to sing with her and the fans.He high-fived the fan standing next to him.

Deryck from Sum 41 also made a surprise appearance and sang "In Too Deep" with Avril.Yes, they are still friends.

It was a pretty good concert and they even gave us a commemorative ticket, a free meal, lots of merchandise and many other stuff in the VIP packages if you bought one since Avril was celebrating 20 years of her career. She was grateful to fans throughout the show too, thanking her for being there for the 20+ years of her career.

I also saw the Blame Canada Tour with Sum 41 and Simple Plan in 2022, which was high energy and featured The OffSpring as well. The tour was fun and celebrated the 20th anniversaries of the debut albums of these bands.

What's the best concert lineup you've had the pleasure of seeing live?

I've seen two really good lineups.

First was in 2024 when Avril Lavigne on her Greatest Hits Tour had Simple Plan, Royal and the Serpent and at shows in Canada only, Fefe Dobson performed.Avril's own performance was great as always and was grateful to fans for coming to the show and supporting her for over 20 years. She sounded really good live, and Simple Plan were fun too and very energetic. They performed their Scooby Doo song, which the crowd loved.

Deryck from Sum 41, came out to perform In Too Deep with Avril and the crowd went crazy.

Deryck is Avril's ex husband, for those who don't know. They've remained good friends.

I also went to the Hella Mega Tour with Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer performed. Green Day had the best energy and set list and nailed the whole show.Fall Out Boy sounded amazing live as always, but their setlist had some newer songs(from their 2010's albums) and was way more poppier.Great show, but setlist was just okay. They did play the hits too though, so that was great.

Weezer were good, but I am not the biggest fan of theirs so I didn't know many of their songs.

What do you think of Linkin Park and its evolution?

Linkin Park is the best that got me into music. From there, I expanded my taste.I grew up with them and love the first three albums till 2007.Chester's voice is legendary.I still enjoy their albums somewhat after Minutes to Midnight.I like the songs Castle of Glass, Lost in the Echo, Bleed It Out and a few more(speaking of post 2007 music only).

The first three albums are 10/10.

I did like the newest album with Emily as the new singer but I respectfully, prefer Chester.I think Emily is good, but Chester is Chester.
