It’s durian season again. Durian Isu is a petite wild Sarawak durian with long spikes. Easy to open. It does not carry a strong scent, is creamy white/light yellow and has sweet flesh. I liken it to eating creme brûlée. Hint of bitterness. Delicious but have to eat a lot to satisfy as relatively big seeds for the size of fruit. Paid RM20 (US$5) for 4 fruits from Bario market.
For a bit of protein I marinated tofu with zaatar and air fried it. Optional because tofu is not my SO’s favourite. So he adds his own stuff. No dressing in salad apart from EVVO and lemon. Mango super sweet and homegrown. Probably slightly over-ripe. Kale, spring onions and red peppers with mango.
I love cilantro. I blitzed a whole bunch with some spring onions and walnuts with EVOO and lemon juice. For protein the salad has borlotti beans, with avocado, cucumber and red onions dressed with salt and pepper and a generous amount of lemon juice.
Quinoa salad dressing is olive oil, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and mustard.

The dressing is yoghurt and mustard with a bit of olive oil. The salad has kale, celery, red onions and spring onions - all ingredients I love! And a red chilli. Usually I use green chilli which is spicier but I didn’t have any at home today. Usually I use mayo but I have a big tub of greek yoghurt in the fridge so I used that instead. Squeeze of lime before serving and sprinkle walnuts.
