Is the TV show unhappily ever after accurate in portraying schizophrenia?

Those who know which TV show I'm referring to, Jack talks to his son's stuffed bunny Mr Floppy. And in an episode as well as in the synopsis it says he's schizophrenic. I'm myself diagnosed with schizoid personality disorder which is believed to be on the schizophrenia spectrum but I can't relate to y'all so I'm wondering if schizophrenics during psychosis can talk to objects and the objects respond? Legitimate question.
