This is still viewing comfort food

I wonder if Tubi will find a way to stream this so I no longer have to use 3rd party apps

Help me find this short lived 90s TV show

I feel this may be a Mandela effect situation… I’m trying to find information about a TV show I remember that seems to have been scrubbed from the internet.

For a long time I remembered the name but now I’ve forgotten.

Here’s what I remember:

  1. It starred Stephen Root as a judge (and it’s not on his IMDB or wiki!!)

  2. It was set in central Florida

  3. It was in that vein of quirky 90s tv show that was a little bit magical realism

  4. It aired in the late 90s, maybe 98 or 99, for one season or less.

  5. The opening sequence involved an alligator

  6. It was about weird goings-on in this town, but also centered on the legal stories (I think - this is a reach but I did watch every episode so I kind of remember)

  7. We didn’t have cable so it would have aired on network TV.

Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about?

Does anyone remember American Gothic (1995)?

I don’t remember hearing about this series in the ’90s, but it looks so intriguing, and I’m about to give it a watch for the first time! Gary Cole in a southern gothic horror sounds fantastic. Cancelled after one season.
