Do you enjoy some narrative in your games?

Do you enjoy some narrative in your games?

Hi there!
We are creating a roguelite with a light story attached to it.
Your grandfather is kidnapped and taken into a casino by the mafia that runs the city.
You need to infiltrate the casino, battle your way through the floors, and rescue him.
It's all set in a 1930's noir style, and with birds (why birds? long story!)

There are nodes in the map that are short dialogues, or before/after boss fights.

Is this something you enjoy? Don't care? Does it bother you?
Would love to know what you think.

Slowly but steady! Reached 800 wishlists.

Been posting more on social media, and now getting 3-5 wishlists a day, with some peak days of 10+.
Next milestone is 1k.
We have our demo up in multiple platforms (itch, Kongregate), with some decent trafic.
We need to prompt wishlist on menu for players, because now its only at the end of the demo.

Link in case you want to help the number go up :D

We've had a trailer for a while, but I think we need to make it catchier.
Would love to hear your thoughts on how we can make it better.
I feel the people who do play the game, like it and want more, but we are still stuck <1000 wishlists for a long time.

Just pushed a new version of our demo and wrote up a devlog talking about the development process.

Golden Caravan is a roguelite card battler set in 1930s noir. Think poker-based combat with trinket synergies and a Scorsese vibe.
Been working on it for a while now and wanted to share where we're at, after signing with a publisher to bring the full version of the game to life!

The devlog covers some of the design decisions we made, what changed from the early prototype (including engine!), and where we're headed next.

Would appreciate any feedback from folks here. Always curious to hear what other devs and players think, and what should we tackle next!

If you remember the original Sword & Poker, you know it was something special. Pretty unique for its time. It's been dead for years now, and every few months I'd see someone on a subreddit asking if anything like it still existed.

Eventually my team and I got tired of waiting and just decided to build the successor we wanted to play. Golden Caravan is our take on that mechanic, but evolved into a roguelite structure. We kept that core poker-as-combat loop and added deep trinket synergies, suit-based relics, and set it in a brutal 1930s noir world.

It's about mastering the deck and then learning how to bend the rules when things get dicey. We're getting close to Early Access and have an updated demo going live on Steam in a few days.

If you've been missing that tactical poker itch, or just want a card game that feels like a Scorsese revenge movie, come check it out.

Would love to hear what fans of card games think of where we took this game :)
