My farmer mate discovered his newborn sleeps better with a cardboard cow is this normal?

Went round to my friend’s house and nearly lost it because he’s got a full‑size cow cutout standing behind the baby gate.

He just goes, “Don’t ask how I found this out — the baby will only sleep if the cow’s there.”

At first I was like, “Mate… why have you got a cow in the house?”

But honestly, it’s udderly amazing.

The second that star cutouts cow’s in position, the baby stops crying!

He reckons it’s because he’s a farmer and the little one’s already used to seeing cows.

So now I’m wondering — is this normal UK parenting behaviour, or has he invented something the rest of us haven’t caught onto yet?

Would you keep this setup or move her somewhere else?

was tidying my beauty cabinet and put Glinda (Ariana Grande Wicked StarCutouts) there for a minute.

This wasn’t planned at all — I just liked the look of it when I stepped back.

As David Attenborough reaches 100, it makes you think… how many TV legends make it to a century without controversy and are still adored by the people who grew up with them?

On his 100th birthday today, communities across the UK are planting trees, nature groups are hosting special wildlife walks, and broadcasters are replaying his greatest documentaries. With so much happening in his honour, it raises a rare question: how many other television icons have lived to 100, kept their legacy spotless, and are still celebrated by the people whose lives they shaped?

I’m planning a garden party soon and I’m thinking about buying this 195 cm WWE “Just Bring It” The Rock cardboard cutout to put outside. I haven’t bought it yet, but the weather’s meant to be sunny and I’ve already got a particular spot in mind where he’d stand — tucked by the flowerbeds, slightly in the shade, where he’d be visible but not overwhelming.

I’m still not sure if it’s a genuinely good idea or just one of those things that sounds fun until it’s actually in the garden. So I’d appreciate some level‑headed opinions from people who’ve hosted outdoor events or used novelty decorations before.

Pros I’m considering:

- The weather should be good, so he won’t get ruined by rain.

- I’ve got a perfect spot picked out where he’d look intentional rather than random.

- Could be a fun talking point and help break the ice.

- People might enjoy taking photos with it.

- Adds a bit of personality without needing loads of extra décor.

Cons I’m thinking about:

- He’s quite tall, so he might dominate the space more than I expect.

- Could look a bit odd if the rest of the setup is fairly simple.

- Some guests might not understand the joke or might find it a bit gimmicky.

- Even with sun, there’s always the chance of wind, which might make him wobble or fall over.

My friend had Rhea Ripley and everyone said that was good but I prefer The Rock.

I’d been hunting everywhere for a Bluey life‑size cardboard cutout for my daughter’s birthday — specifically one this big. Most of the ones I found were tiny, and the few that were this size were priced like they’d cost a million pounds.

This one from Star Cutouts UK was still a bit on the pricey side, but it was easily the best value I found. I was a little nervous the quality wouldn’t match the price, but honestly, it was worth every single pound.

And just look at my two little girls with Bluey and Bingo — how cute are they. I genuinely couldn’t imagine a better cutout; the quality was brilliant and everyone at the party thought it was absolutely adorable.
