Statement regarding my disabled account from Meta - Hacked instagram account and then disabled

Statement regarding my disabled accounts

My Facebook account (16+ years) and Instagram account were compromised and accessed without my permission.

During the night, while I was asleep, unauthorized changes were made to my account. Shortly after, both accounts (which were linked through Meta) were permanently disabled for guideline violations.

I want to make it absolutely clear that these actions were not performed by me. This situation is the direct result of a security breach.

I also experienced clear signs of unauthorized access, such as my trusted device suddenly no longer being recognized and being required to re-verify access via my email.

I have already contacted Meta Support and completed identity verification, including the required verification steps. I was informed that my account was in a recovery process, but despite this, my account remains disabled and my case has been closed without any resolution.

This is extremely concerning. I want this issue resolved as soon as possible. The way this situation is currently being handled is not acceptable, especially for users who are clearly victims of a compromised account.

At this point, I am requesting a proper human review of my accounts. I would also like to personally speak with someone from Meta who can actually investigate and resolve this issue.

Additionally, I am seeing an increasing number of similar reports in recent days, which raises serious concerns about how these situations are being handled and whether automated systems are incorrectly flagging compromised accounts.

I am asking for urgency, clarity, and a fair review of my case.

My Facebook & Instagram (linked accounts) were hacked, disabled, and I’m locked out of support — need help

Hi everyone,

I’m dealing with a serious issue and hoping someone here (or someone from Meta) can help or point me in the right direction.

My Facebook account (16+ years old) and my Instagram account (@brianpaul__)

were linked through Meta and were recently compromised. During the night, while I was asleep, someone gained access and started making changes. My name and profile picture were altered, and inappropriate content was posted and sent without my knowledge.

Shortly after this activity, both accounts were disabled for violating Meta’s guidelines. I want to be very clear: I did NOT perform any of these actions.

What makes this situation more complex is that both accounts were connected, which likely caused the issue to spread across both platforms.

Additional details:

I still had access at some point, but it was clear someone else was also using my account (likely due to a leaked password)

My device suddenly became “unrecognized,” and I had to re-verify it via email

The content that triggered the ban is something I would never post

I contacted Meta Pro Support and completed identity verification (including video verification). A case was opened (Reference ID: 2197930337634553), and I was told my account was in a recovery process. However, the case was closed, and my account is still showing as permanently disabled.

I also reached a support limit, so I currently can’t open new chats. Even a new account I created was immediately disabled after verification, which makes me think my accounts are being flagged as linked.

At this point I feel completely stuck. I’ve followed all the proper steps, verified my identity, and provided clear signs of a security breach, but I still have no resolution.

If anyone has experienced something similar or knows how to escalate this further within Meta, I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance 🙏

My Facebook & Instagram accounts (16+ years) were hacked, disabled, and now I’m locked out of support — need help

Hi everyone,

I’m dealing with a serious issue and hoping someone here (or someone from Meta) can help or point me in the right direction.

My Facebook account (16+ years old) and my Instagram account were linked through Meta and were 2 days ago on 22th of April 2026 compromised. During the night, while I was asleep, someone gained access and started making changes. My name and profile picture were altered, and inappropriate content was posted and sent without my knowledge.

Shortly after this activity, my accounts were disabled for violating Meta’s guidelines. I want to be very clear: I did NOT perform any of these actions.

What makes this even more concerning:

I still had access, but it was clear someone else was also using my account (likely due to a leaked password)

To make things worse, I now can’t open new support chats due to hitting the limit, and even a new account I created was immediately disabled after verification.

At this point I feel completely stuck. I’ve followed all the proper steps, verified my identity, and provided clear signs of a security breach, but I still have no resolution.

If anyone has experienced something similar or knows how to escalate this further within Meta, I would really appreciate your help!
