My 12 year old Facebook account was banned. Has this happened to anyone else?

I was on Facebook as usual when a notification popped up saying I had to take a selfie to verify the account matched my face. I did. Then I received an email saying my account was disabled. I appealed and took another selfie. Less than a minute later, I got another email saying my account had been permanently disabled and I couldn't appeal. wtffff????????

My 17 year old facebook/instagram account was banned for no reason at all

I randomly received an email that my meta account has been disabled due to some community policy bla bla. I could appeal with the click of a button, and not even 2 minutes later I got an email saying my appeal has been denied and now my account is permanently banned.

This means I have lost access to all connections I have made in my life since highschool. I lost the way we all keep in touch with family and relatives, lost the way to communicate with my friends through groups. All the vague connections with distant friends from when I was a kid is now gone also.

I have done NOTHING for this to happen. I haven't liked or posted in over 5 years, just logging in to check the marketplace and chatting on messenger with friends and family.

Now many contacts think I have just deleted my account or unfriended/blocked them. People I explain this to ask what I did to get banned...

I work from home and most of my "social" life came from using messenger. I don't care about Instagram, and I don't care about facebook, but losing all my connections and my messenger account is devastating.

Anyone know what I can do?

Messenger is restricting me from sending messages and says to “confirm your identity to send messages” due to unusual activity. I don’t want to give Facebook any type of ID, how do I fix this?

Will facebook keep my information from all my posts and pics when I delete my account?

Hello!

I'm going to deactivate (and hopefully delete) my life-long account, the one I've had since I was 14 yo. At that time, I wasn't very aware of what one shouldn't have posted online... and my fear now is that, even after deleting the account, facebook will still be able to access the infos about 14-15 yo me.

Or worse! Could anyone outside fb be able to retrieve those infos?

And a more practical question: should I do some specific action before deactivating? Idk, deleting posts with some tool (I have more then 15k posts...)? Anything that comes to your mind.

Thank you!

Why am I seeing random people's posts on my feed? I don't follow them or have them as a friend

I'm talking random people from all over the world, barely any interaction on the posts, sometimes it's a photo of what they're having for dinner, or photos of their kids?

I don't know these people, I don't follow them or have them as friends, it's so weird.

New "Community Guidelines/Standards" and New Account Creation Troubles

I dropped my own Facebook account 5 years ago after using it for 15 years. I can't stand the product.

HOWEVER, my 80-year-old mother in the United States and my almost 80-year-old uncle in Poland would like to communicate. He likes Messenger. He knows how to use Messenger. We all know how difficult it is to teach octogenarians how to use new technology. I was already not looking forward to teaching my mother how to use Messenger.

Poland has recently discontinued landlines country-wide (as they should). I had my mom set up with Google Voice to call her brother for pennies per minute.

Anyway, my mother has never had a Facebook account. I've been trying to set her up with one for the sole purpose of voice calling her brother. Both accounts have worked for 10 minutes and then Meta decides they go against Community Guidelines and have been disabled. I've uploaded selfies of my mother, etc. for the appeal to no avail. Both appeals have been denied.

What's the deal? I get trying to combat bots and bad actors, but how the heck do you make an account now?

Messenger verification upload error, messages restricted help please

My outgoing messages were restricted, and I was asked to complete a face verification, which I was able to capture properly. However, since yesterday, every time I try to upload it, I keep getting an error.

I’ve already uninstalled Messenger and even reset my phone, but the issue is still happening.

Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?

Does it happen often that you get permanently banned from a fb group for posting a photo that is perfectly what the groups is about?

It was a scenery group - "New Zealand is awesome" and I posted a photo of a nice landscape there. Then I got permanently banned, what the hell happened to the internet.

Group admin here - What is the point of giving the option "decline with feedback" IF FACEBOOK NEVER NOTIFIES THE PERSON? I see this has been a problem for years. Anyone able to figure out why or how to enable someone is notified?

FB suspended and reported my account over an innocent Easter picture. Any other parents furious?!

Yesterday I posted an innocent picture of my daughter (2), coloring Easter eggs at the kitchen table to my FB page that’s private (family only). She’s 2. Naturally she’s going to be topless during a messy activity, she’s two?! But the eggs were covering her chest 99% in the photo, I didn’t think twice about it so I posted it.Again because she’s 2. The fact I have to sit here and question the picture is ABSURDITY. Absolute bananas. FB flagged it for CSE. I’m disgusted and disappointed in Facebook. If anything legal comes from this I’m SUING! It’s ridiculous they have the freedom to accuse and defame someone’s character off of an AI system. My child was not being sexually exploited and it makes me so angry and sick that they accused me of such thing.

I’ve read a lot of posts of people relating to this type of thing recently. It’s crazy!!! FB is no longer my cup of tea, I’ll be deleting it asap.

Permanently banned in 60 minutes with a "Ghost Appeal" I never filed.

**The Timeline (all within about an hour):**

Mail #1 (14:00): Received an email saying my account is suspended because I violated Terms of Service regarding "who can use Facebook." It said I had 180 days to appeal.

Mail #2 (14:01 - literally one minute later): A second email stating my Advertising Access is restricted due to "misleading behavior" or "business asset violations."

Mail #3 (15:00): I get a final email saying: "The decision on your review request is negative. Your account is permanently disabled. You requested a review, but we still found violations. This decision is final."

*The thing is I never requested a review. I hadn't even opened the first email before the "final decision" was made.*

Technical Context:

No Login Alerts: My 2FA didn't trigger, and there are no "unauthorized login" emails.

Security: My email is secure, and my PayPal shows no weird charges.

When I try to log in, I get the "We disabled your account" message with only one option: Download Your Information. There is no button to appeal.

seems like i got hacked in some way, maybe session hijacking, already formatted my pc. what can i do?

I would have loved to if I wasn't instantly banned and told to "video verify" just to never be unbanned again and wasted yet another email address

Can't trust Meta products

My Instagram was flagged for child sexual content when I barely use the app. I have changed my password due to hacking. My Meta and Facebook accounts are linked to Instagram. all of my accounts are now disabled. I have no access for an unjustified disablement of my accounts. There are no other options to appeal, but the apps keep telling me to appeal. i paid for meta verified just for them to tell me their is nothing they can do. my VR i spent so uch money on useless. I have submitted the case to the Attorney General and the FCC for review.

Hi. For those whose Facebook was suspended then was retrieved, were you able to retrieve your business page too?

I was able to retrieve my Facebook account after sending an appeal email to meta. But my business page was not retrieved at all. How about you?

Switching phones but I don't know my Facebook login and I don't have access to the email

howdy yall, I recently got a new phone and plan on switching over and setting it up tomorrow afternoon. I made my Facebook when I was about 11 to play dragon city with my friends after my family moved. I no longer have access to the email I signed up with, and I don't know my log in. my Facebook is linked to my Instagram if that is of any use. I don't want to lose my account, but I can't seem to find a way to update the email or set up any sort of backup login without having to put in my old password or have access to that email. any help is appreciated, thank you!

How to remove myself from a facebook page that i don’t want to be part of anymore

Months back i was added as an admin on a page with only partial control to help with the promo of the page’s business. But i’m not part of this anymore so i’ve been wanting to remove myself from the page because i don’t want to keep getting notifications. I’ve asked the owner of this page to remove me several times but he doesn’t want to and keeps playing dumb saying he doesn’t know how to do it. I’ve tried everything.. meta business suite, tried reporting the page, it won’t let me block it, the guy is now just ignoring my messages. what else can i do?
