Fedora 43 KDE -> 44 upgrade not working, AI says it’s because of third-party repos?
I’ve been trying to upgrade Fedora 43 KDE to Fedora 44 for about a week. I first tried several times through Discover, and basically nothing happened.
After searching online and trying to understand what was wrong, an AI agent told me the problem is probably my third-party repos. I have things like RPM Fusion, NVIDIA drivers, Brave, Chrome, VS Code, Tailscale, and a couple of COPRs.
What I don’t understand is: this does not seem like some crazy unusual setup to me. Having external repos, especially for something like NVIDIA, seems pretty normal on Fedora. So I’m confused why upgrading to Fedora 44 would apparently require disabling or even removing a bunch of third-party stuff first.
Is that really expected on Fedora?
Or is the AI misunderstanding the issue?
If this is actually normal, what is the practical low-risk way people handle this?
If not what can be the issue ?
