Equalisation

Union rep had a “meeting” with all us newbies today and just reminded us about a letter from the cwu coming in the post. I asked him what exactly comes with this step towards equalisation and his response was 4.75% pay rise back dated and paid meal reliefs. Is this true? Because at the end of the meeting he just told us to vote yes. Honestly if what the cwu are offering is a slap in the face and we’re getting told by our union reps to “just vote yes” what else can us new entrants do?

Break up

Just now my girl asked me for £300, bear in mind I gave her £85 to get her hair and nails done a few days ago, then took her out the next day. I asked her what for and all she said was fun (I think she’s a serious pothead) Been going out w her for 6 months and she’s been making a habit of asking me for money recently. Should I break up w her?. She’s 24 and I’m 23 but she seems to have no aspirations or understanding of being a financially responsible adult. She’s also unemployed and seems to live above her means then asks me or her parents to “bail” her out. In short I’m coming to the conclusion she’s a bum and I should just move on but I think I’m attached or either manipulated.

Currently a postman looking for a second part time job or side hustle, anyone have any recommendations? My work hours are 7:30 - 3 ft so ideally evening roles around a few hours a day. It’s crazy you can work full time and still need a side hustle to make ends meet.

Been dating g this girl off tinder for about 3 months now, done fun dates with her like bowling and karaoke and also taken her out to eat a few times. We’ve also just hung out gone for drives and just spent quality time with eachother, but now I’m off work for the week thinking about asking her to be my girlfriend, does anyone have any date ideas or recommendations which would set up a nice atmosphere to pull out the big question? I’m 23 btw.

Can anyone explain if I should be opting out of my pension at Rm. I’m 23 and this is my first proper full time job. Does anyone recommend opting out or explaining if royal mail’s contributions are even good. I’m coming up to my 1st year of service where they change me from NEST I think

Anyone know why Royal Mail only has 30 hour contracts on their website. When I got the job at my DO I applied for 37 hours but after getting the job and checking their website all vacancies are only 30 hours. With the workload they expect us to clear I don’t get hour a 30 hour work week is possible let alone sustainable with the just above minimum wage they wanna pay us newbies. Seems like the DO I got the job at was the only 37 hour contracted post I’ve seen.

Drove the van out of our very tight front yard today and scrapped it against the wall. Probably should have reversed it out as my manager is always bandaging on about but our yard is on a main road and nobody had time to guide me out. So in a rush I was I drove it out and clipped it on the side. Couldn’t even tell how bad I damaged it since all our small vans have hitched and scrapes from posties doing the same as me. You thing it’s worth notifying my manager when I see her tomorrow?
