Update: Bubba is still waiting. He is 13 years old, 106 lbs, and deaf. This gentle soul is still waiting for his forever home! 💔🐾

Hey everyone, checking back in for my friend who is fostering Bubba through Orange County Animal Services. He is still looking for his forever home, and we are hoping that by sharing this, the right person will finally see him.

Please don't let his age or his size fool you, now that he’s been settling into foster care, my friend has discovered that he is honestly the easiest, most low-maintenance dog you could ever ask for.

What it’s actually like living with Bubba:

  • The Perfect Cafe Partner: My friend took him out to Velvet Taco and he is an absolute dream. Because he’s deaf, the busy noises and clinking dishes didn't phase him at all. He didn't try to sniff people's plates, he just chilled and eventually went to sleep under the table.
  • Flawless House Manners: He has had zero bathroom accidents at my friend's house. Not a single one. He has perfect manners indoors, doesn't chew a thing, and just wants to find a cool tile floor or a cozy rug to park himself on.
  • Loyal to a Fault: He has absolutely no interest in escaping or running away. The door was accidentally left open the other day, and instead of bolting, Bubba just stood politely at the threshold waiting for my friend. He just wants to be where his people are.
  • Simple Pleasures: His daily checklist is simple: eat his food, drink his water, go for a slow "sniff-walk" (he loves dipping his paws in the water!), and sleep. He doesn't pull on the leash and is incredibly gentle.

Because he lives in a world of total quiet, he won't bark at the mailman or get scared of thunderstorms. He does need a quick, helpful boost to get into the car since his back legs are a little older, and he needs a home without cats.

Bubba is a senior Lab/Pointer mix who is ready to be the ultimate, easygoing companion for a quiet household or a retired couple.

Even if you can’t adopt, please share. It only takes one share for the right person to see him. Let’s get this sweet boy the forever couch he deserves!

Hustle culture is a lie; true wealth is just having peace and good food.

I always wanted to hustle, have a great life with so much money, and become successful. To have a car-I don't know, I guess because society told me that's the definition of success. But honestly, I never really wanted a car or my own big house. I just wanted to do my own thing.

I don't know why I was so influenced, but I really used to want to hustle for my dreams and achieve something big. But now? I just think all of that is worthless.

Now, I think just sitting with your loved ones and having a normal conversation is so great. Just having good food to eat. Not the processed stuff, because nowadays it feels like everything has cancer in it. Everywhere you look, people are saying "this will cause you cancer, that will do that."

I just want to go somewhere in the countryside and get a farm. Get a good piece of land, get a cow, get some dogs, and just grow whatever food I need right there. For milk, I can feed the cows myself. I just want a small, tiny organic material house. Because at the end of the day, I think that's all people really need.

If you are rich or poor, people still commit unthinkable. You can have everything and still not be happy. You can have nothing and sometimes be completely happy. I just don't know what the exact cause of happiness is for anyone anymore.

Out in the world, it feels like no one is actually interested in anyone else's life. Everyone just wants to be understood by someone. Like in dating, nobody is there to actually understand you, but everyone is out there hoping for the exact same thing. So, I don't know what's going on.

There's also this emptiness in everyone's life. Everyone has something they worry about, something they're not happy about. And honestly, it feels like nobody is happy for anyone else's success. People just get jealous. They find reasons to bring you down, They just sucked up to the right people to get ahead in life, or they are doing something shady to get all that money.

People won't support or appreciate whatever the other person is doing in their life. People are just jealous and unhappy. Why is it so hard to find a single person who is genuinely happy for someone else?

Your great-grandchildren won't even remember your name. Why do we need all this power, status, and for people to recognize us? Eventually, everyone forgets everyone. So why can't we just live our lives?

What is happiness for you? What is satisfaction? Is there any way to actually feel that, or do you just run through life trying to keep up with everyone else? I know we are not special or unique, but I'm just so lost right now and I don't have my "whys" anymore.

Hey everyone, I’m helping a friend get the word out about their foster dog, Bubba. He’s a 13-year-old Lab/Pointer mix currently with Orange County Animal Services, and he is honestly the definition of a "good boy."

If you’re looking for a dog that won't bark at the mailman or trip you up with high energy, Bubba is your guy. Since he’s deaf, he lives in a world of total peace.

What it’s like living with Bubba:

  • Professional Napper: He’s a big guy (106 lbs!) who loves finding a cool tile floor or a big couch to park himself on.
  • Water Baby: He loves to go for slow "sniff-walks" and dip his paws in the water.
  • The "Lean": He’s a big sweetheart who likes to be near his people.
  • Easy Manners: He’s great on a leash and friendly with everyone he meets out in public.

He does need a little help getting into the car (his back legs aren't as young as they used to be!), and he’d prefer a home without cats.

Bubba has been through a lot of changes lately, and he’s just looking for a quiet spot where he can be someone’s loyal companion for his golden years.
