State employees on CHP, have you been able to get on weight loss medication without diabetes?

Hey guys! I went to the doctors yesterday and got diagnosed with a chronic metabolic condition that makes weight loss hard, then add I am mentally disabled and have disordered eating on top of that. She understands due to what is in my records I have sent to her that weight loss is going to be harder for me then normal people. I have an obese BMI but thankfully am not pre diabetic yet, she said if she could she would put me on a GLP-1 but she knows my insurance won’t cover it. I was wondering if any state employees have been able to get on a weight loss medication without being diabetic and if so what was that like and how did you do it? I also know the weight management program should be opening in November and they would be finalizing plans in July.

Wanting to know some questions about the disorder since I have a boyfriend who has the condition.

So I have a boyfriend who has the condition and it’s not like a major bother to me as someone who is mentally ill and also disabled but I did wanna have some questions answered by the community as someone who lowkey has trust issues. So my best friend has done some research into the condition and basically she is like “since he is 23 and has the condition pop up so early it means that he was using hallucinogenic drugs like weed and that caused his condition to show earlier then it should.” Which makes me feel a little weird I guess? Because he still smokes and she is like “you need to tell him to quit getting high because it’s only going to deteriorate his mind more” but he told me that his doctor said “it was fine to do just not too much” but he also has “break throughs” on his meds like once a month. He told me that his condition is just gonna get worse but by a small amount and that his doctor told him that he will “still be functional when he is like 60” or so but I wonder would that be if he stoped smoking weed or if he kept smoking which he isn’t like a major pot head or stoner by any means it’s a weekend activity for him and he doesn’t get super high at all but I still worry. I care about him and work with patients who are a bit in younger years who are completely incapacitated due to their schizophrenia.

TLDR QUESTIONS:

  1. Can taking hallucinogenic drugs before 25 cause schizophrenia to show up earlier?
  2. When you are medicine resistant should you in any capacity take any hallucinogenic drugs even in moderation?
  3. Would stopping taking hallucinogenic drugs maybe prevent breakthroughs on medication?

Hello! I’m F23, autistic, I think this might provide some explanation. I thought it would be nice to build more office connections with my team by getting all the moms on the team generic mother days cards. They are just basic cards for any mother not just specifically for your mom. I spent like 30 dollars on these cards and even had to hand make one because I missed someone when I thought I bought enough. My boss said it was very sweet and signed them but said he “felt bad because it feels like it’s coming from you (me)” and then I tried to get my other co worker to sign it and she had this weird look on her face and said “I don’t think I’m gonna sign it. She isn’t my mother” and so now I’m thinking it’s weird I bought everyone on the team mother days cards. Maybe people think cards are personal? I don’t really know or understand so that’s why I’m asking for advice.

UPDATE: I handed them out and everyone was very grateful my boss decided to add to the fun and bought some deserts for all of us to share in the conference room! We all love a reason to get together and snack so it was a perfect excuse!

Hello! I am not a reader of science fiction but my dad is. He likes to listen to audio books while he is on the road for work and Father’s Day is next month and so I wanna buy him a book on audible for him BUT- I wanna lowkey put in some propaganda for him. He is very conservative not to get super political but honestly it’s hurting our relationship because he often sees me as an enemy, has insulted me, and is overall kinda tough to be around as of late. I wanna try to maybe get him to read a story that might make him think a little or at least agree that the bad guys in the story that are maybe Fascist are evil or say that the capitalism in the book is bad. Or maybe a book about accepting people who are different than you? I wanna make it not too on the nose because he can kinda be smart at times. Suggest anything you think fits that category and I’ll ask him if he read it so I can buy it for him.

Okay so hi I’m 23F who is autistic and loves the taste of the “One A Day Teen Multi Gummy’s” because they legit taste so good. I’ve taken them since I was a teenager and I still take them as an adult. I take the 2 a day like it says on the bottle but I’m 23 so I was wondering do I need to take maybe more of the gummies to get what I need or do I need to bite the bullet and take adult woman vitamins

Hello, I’m asking mostly diagnosed neurodivergent employees here a question. Do you have accommodations for your work place? What do those look like and what was getting them set up like? It’s hard to mask due to the fact I am more socially inept then everyone else and my main team knows about my condition how ever I wonder what are the benefits of having my disability documented, the ways my disability effects me and having accommodations for that. If anyone has any advice or if your warning me against it. Let me know! Thank you!

I have signed up with therapy from FSU Behavioral Health. I’m a non student an I wonder if they do actual good work. I’ve heard some things about them. I’m going to them for talk therapy and eating disorder help. Let me know your experiences and if they did help and did good work.
