New philo Brazil 🌱

Got this philo Brazil the other day from Lowe’s on the clearance rack. I’ve never had one before and I see it’s got a lot of mechanical damage, I was wondering if anyone has some care tips for it ? Right now I have it in a hanging pot on my plant stand directly under the light and it receives some direct morning sun, so I’m hoping that’s sufficient light. I noticed some new growth that it has is getting bigger so I think it’s doing alright.

New Thai con🌱

Got this beauty the other day and I’m still in awe. This is now my second Thai con ! Thought I’d get another because my other one has seen better days before my cat mauled it. I’m also trying a new potting mix, which consists of fir bark, charcoal chunks, chunky perlite, leca, and some potting soil. Hoping it works better than the mix I was using with my other Thai con but I am wondering if it’s too chunky- if that’s possible 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’ve had this Thai constellation for about 5-6 months and it has been through some trauma. It had root rot twice when it was potted in soil, both times I switched it to water and leca and it bounced back, providing 1 new leaf every time it switched to water. For the past month or so, I’ve had it in a self watering pot with just leca and it seemed to only grow 1 new leaf and a heftyyyy amount of roots so I thought it’d be wise to switch her back to soil.

Right now it’s planted in a clear nursery pot and a mixture of soil, orchid bark, and leca- if I had chunky perlite I would add that too but I don’t. I water my monsteras only when the nursery pot feels light and the soil is mostly dry- about 2 weeks or so. I know it could benefit from a little more light so I moved her closer to my grow light and east facing window (only option for me) that are in close proximity of eachother.

I’m worried it’s going to get root rot again. I’ve had to cut 3 leaves off already because of the root rot issues in the past but it’s looking very healthy now (aside from the leaf that was mangled by my cat). I also keep seeing that Thai cons are very slow growers but other people say they aren’t. I just want her to thrive and avoid getting root rot again.

Any advice helps ! 🌱

Side note, about 2 weeks ago I applied keiki cloning paste to the leaf-less nodes (3rd pic) in hopes of new growth to fill her out a bit. I’ve noticed some action with the axillary buds protruding slightly so I’m wondering if instead of focusing on new top leaves it’s shifted it’s focus on the axillary buds. At this point, miss girl is a full on experiment for me.

I put this marble queen pothos on a moss poll about 3 weeks ago, give or take. Since repotting her on her own, she has not put out any new leaves and she won’t root in the moss poll.

I know moss poles need to stay consistently moist (using a water drip on top of the moss pole) to entice roots and provide enough water for the them, but given that I have her in such a small pot, I don’t want to risk the water pooling and causing root rot.

I know she is healthy right now and I should be more patient and I’m trying to but I thought it atleast would have put out another leaf by now.

Should I be more patient ? Am I over thinking it ? This is my first ever moss pole and I tried to research what I could. Any advice helps 🌱
