New Thai con🌱

Got this beauty the other day and I’m still in awe. This is now my second Thai con ! Thought I’d get another because my other one has seen better days before my cat mauled it. I’m also trying a new potting mix, which consists of fir bark, charcoal chunks, chunky perlite, leca, and some potting soil. Hoping it works better than the mix I was using with my other Thai con but I am wondering if it’s too chunky- if that’s possible 🤷🏽‍♂️

Also, just as someone mentioned, it is not possible to post pictures in this sub yet, therefore the video 😊

New plant mom help

I bought this plant off Marketplace when it was small but healthy. Unfortunately, it dried out pretty badly after I got it, and I honestly couldn’t tell if it was dead or just struggling. I decided to try switching it to hydroponics, so I removed all the dry soil, cleaned the roots really well, and put it in water.

After a while, the roots actually started growing really well, and it even pushed out a new leaf, so I thought it was recovering. During my next water change, I added a little fertilizer, but I think I may have added too much because the new leaf died shortly after.

Now I’m worried the plant might be dead, but the roots still seem to be thriving. They don’t smell rotten, and I switched it back to plain water with no fertilizer.

Does this sound like fertilizer burn/shock, or is the plant dying? Any tips for helping it recover?
