3 on the top 3 on the bottom... I dunno what I was counting and not counting but I definitely snapped it when prying it open 🤦🏽‍♂️. Luckily I found one for 60 bucks new online. Oh, and I figured out what the noise was from my other post. I'll post in the next comment. It's been a fun Saturday lol.

Here's the backstory. I've recently been motivated to start working on my 2013 Subaru Legacy with approx 223k miles after letting it sit for a couple of months because it was cold and I have no garage to work on it in. When I went to drive it, I had a no start issue that I thought was an alternator issue. I changed the alternator and the main 120v fuse. I low-key think it was the little plastic thing that prevents corrosion that the shop added to the terminal ends of the cable when I replaced my battery. I say this because I had the old alternator tested off of the car and it passed the test. After I got the car running again I noticed the sounds you hear in the video. I apologize for the wind. I did not realize how loud it was and that my phone would pick it up. I typically play my music really loud so I could not confirm if the car was making that noise before or after the alternator swap. I have seen videos and have read other posts where people say that it's just a Subaru being a Subaru. Is that what this sounds like? Or should I be concerned? The belt did not have any cracks and still felt pretty malleable. Could it be the belt tensioner or idler pulley? Any thoughts and feedback is always greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I have a 2013 Legacy with approximately 223k miles. After successfully doing the cvt drain and refill I'm off to another project on the Subie. It threw a P301/ P303 combo. I pulled the coil packs to inspect and dreadfully saw oil on both and in the spark plug tubes. I was running out of light so I haven't switched them around to see if the misfire codes follow. My prediction is that they will. I suppose I'll need two coil packs and spark plugs all around. Given the presence of oil combined with the age of the vehicle, am I correct to assume my valve cover gasket failed on that side? When changing it, should I treat it like a math problem and do the same thing on both sides? I have the fel-pro replacement gasket kit, and ngk iridium plugs ready. If the codes follow the packs I will source 2 coil packs, if not, I guess they're good to go and just need proper cleaning? What if anything am I missing? Those who have done this, what issues have you ran into that maybe some videos missed that you've learned only by doing it? I appreciate any feedback, critiques, and jokes along the way!

Finally did that drain and refill. Almost shit myself assuming my hex kit had an 8mm in it and finding out it didn't. Luckily I had one in another kit. I figured that out after the front was on rhino stands and the back was on jack stands. This was her first one. Shes a 2013 Legacy with about 223000 miles. I measured a bit more than 5 quarts coming out. I put in a little bit more than what came out. Accounting for what dribbled out, it was probably the same amount. Was gonna do the differential fluid too, but I think I need one more quart of oil, so I'll do that next wknd. My only concern was that my replacement crush washer on the drain pain didn't crush. It stayed pretty thick. I tightened to spec and let the car run for a while when finished and checked with a white paper towel. No leaks. So I guess I'm good.
