How do you keep the spirit of being a commissioner alive?

As you all know, it’s a thankless job. Hard to get new rules passed even though you have done the research, burnout from doing it forever, never winning due to commissioner’s curse, and a myriad of other reasons.

I’m in a 15-year league with a many of my best friends, but I know the league would disband if I didn’t commission it. But that shouldn’t be the only reason I’m doing it, and that’s where I feel like I’m at.

I find myself having a lot less fun playing fantasy football, caring less about making the league better, compiling my league’s stats, dreading getting everything ready for our draft, etc. I pride myself on putting out a great product, but my drive is waning. The NFL wanting to increase the season doesn’t make me anymore excited either.

How do you commissioners keep your fire burning?

I am not a fan of Sleeper's schedule randomizer. As it is currently, our 10-team league plays each team once Week 1-9. This is fine. However, starting Week 10, every team just plays the exact same schedule they had in Weeks 1-9 for the remaining weeks. To me, that is incredibly boring and uninteresting.

I would like to spice up the schedule more by making it way more random. Maybe Team A plays Team C Weeks 1 and 3, for example. But, if anything, I would like Week 10 - Week 15 not to just be a copy of Week 1-9.

I want to make sure all teams play each other once, and no team plays another more than twice during the regular season.

Any tips or suggestions on how to accomplish this while still keeping things balanced and fair?

It's that time of year again! A ton of people from this sub have joined the league, so I figured I would see if any others have interest! I will post periodically for visibility, but please feel free to share.

I am currently recruiting for Season 04 of my 44-player Halo 3 LAN league. LAN info and registration details can be found here.

Preseason exhibition sessions will be held this summer on the following 2026 dates:

  • June 20
  • July 18
  • Live Draft in August (exact date TBD)

IMPORTANT: In order to be eligible for the season, you will need to play in at least one of the above June or July exhibitions. Please note that I only have a few spots available, and it is first come, first serve.

If you are interested, DM me here or on Discord, or send an email found on our Calling Card.

Season 04 will start in September 2026. The draft in August will be held live, in person in New Berlin, WI.

How we do:

  • 16-player LANs are hosted once a month on Saturdays in my home
  • Team Slayer for pre-season exhibition matches; anything goes during season play including 8v8
  • Players are drafted to one of four squads at the start of the season; each squad is led by two captains
  • League is organized, but focused on fun and teamwork
  • Players of all skill levels involved and welcomed (teams are balanced via player ratings; we just ask that you are familiar with Halo and obviously know how to play it)
  • Food is provided, and there are multiple breaks throughout each event
  • Stats are tracked and presented after each LAN along with a season recap
  • Events are streamed on Twitch; each squad has their own independent live stream
  • Private Discord where we are one big friend group that also organize other IRL hangs

What we're looking for:

  • Positive, social, upbeat people that easily get along with others (non-sweats)
  • Love Halo, IRL hangs, teamwork, healthy competition, and good-natured shit-talk
  • Availability on Saturdays
  • Non-smokers and non-alcoholics
  • Good hygiene
  • No criminal records
  • Respectful of others
  • Respectful of others' property
  • Reliable and accountable

A video chat prior to signing up will be required. Please understand that these LANs take place in my home and I need all of us, including you, to be comfortable.

If interested in signing up or have any questions lemme know! Feel free to post in here, DM me, or check our Calling Card for our email and my Discord. 🫡

I am having a hard time figuring out the custom text in cell formatting to hide zeros.

What I want to hide:

  • 0
  • 0.00

With just Div/0 error corrected

When I use this custom formula 0;-0;;@ in the custom text formatting it deletes all of my decimals in my table.

Using 0;-0;;@ custom formatting, which removes all zeros, including decimals

Basically, I am trying to have my table show nothing if all the data is zero (because there is no data yet) while still maintaining the formulas. I have removed the Div/0 error, but I cannot figure out the custom text needed to get rid of the zeros while still keeping my decimals.

I would love to avoid conditional formatting if at all possible. I saw some people just change the text to white. That won't work for me because I use different colors in my Excel workbook.

Is there a custom text I can use to achieve what I am trying to do?

▲ 4 r/punk

I promise I know how to use a search engine. But it seems like anytime I find a new-to-me song I'm really into I cannot find the lyrics online at all. I get that punk isn't the most popular genre, but the lyrics have to be out there somewhere.
