Does anyone know what the ongoing construction project cutting off College is?

College around Corporate Woods has been closed for what seems like a year and I heard this is a “2 year project.” It’s a fairly large cut across the whole road but I’m curious what this has been for and why it’s such a long construction project. For a while between that and the I35 ramp stuff that was going on near there for so long I was having legit trouble getting over to my MIL’s house. It was quite an out of the way experience! LOL

I hate my cities in PAC Romana - ugly, congested, any advice? Also resources are making me crazy

New to Anno and my first purchase was Pax Romana. Up until Tier 3 citizens I’ve been having a lot of fun on open world playing but after that it gets tedious and I realize I’ve dumped a dozen hours into a big city I hate and resource mgmt that is driving me crazy. Some relatively newb questions:

  1. Should I expect to have to/want to rebuild and reconfigure parts of my city as things grow? I know I have to have big population and workforce on my main city for late game monuments like the amphitheater. Will I not be shooting myself in the foot if I build these in the city center and knock out blocks of homes, or should I move homes out to the periphery or what? I used an “ideal city layout” and the grid and etc has been fine but it’s a mess and all the cool stuff is out on the edges wherever I could cram things in and it’s not like a real city.

  2. I’m using a chart that shows optimized production chain ratios for each item. Problems I’m running into are storage related mostly. It seems like storage fills up fast and at any given time my production is stopped because storage is full. I realize while typing this I probably need to be setting up more shipping to the AI’s to offload a lot more and keep production going. Other issue is every ship fills up with stuff it can’t offload because the destination is full and then it won’t ship the other items that need to be passed around and then THOSE productions get stagnated, too.

What’s the best way to handle this storage/production problem? My brain wants me to keep entire production chains on one island when possible so I’m moving finished goods around rather than their components, but then that creates a secondary problem where I need to create larger cities that have multi-tiered citizens and all the services and goods for them, upping the complication factor. But moving many individual components to my main city for the higher tier artisans is driving me crazy for the reasons mentioned. Maybe I need to just realize I may be growing multiple large cities in this game?

Surly front rack + fenders

Got a great price on a Surly front rack recently and started replacing the Amazon rack on my Disc Trucker then abandoned the job early when I started thinking about the fenders already installed. Was perusing Marketplace and saw a Disc Trucker for sale with the same rack and also with fenders and zooming in on the pics it looks like the rack is installed directly into the eyelets on the fork and the this person installed the fender hardware onto various pieces of the rack instead of trying to double-up on the fork’s mounting positions. Is this how it should be done?

Bought a cool titanium Raleigh Torus frame last year that had no fork. I stripped a previous MTB build as trails are no longer a thing for me and decided to try a Surly 26” Troll fork. Couldn’t find ANYTHING on the fork geometry of the original to compare it to, but this seemed like a pretty average fork. Horrific ride characteristics. It was simultaneously too twitchy and unresponsive and felt really sketchy. Switched bars and stem a couple times, took the front rack off thinking maybe the load up there was an issue, no improvement. It is crazy difficult to source a used 1990’s MTB fork as it turns out, for some reason. I checked a good local bike swap, a large local co-op, and nothing with a 1 1/8” steerer that is long enough (probably a 19” frame so not that weird). Finally found someone on the xbiking for sale page but it was well into winter by that time. Put the fork on this weekend a d it rides great! I was hoping it wasn’t actually something wrong with the frame that I couldn’t see. Whew!

Seeing them in July and I’m wondering if they always tour with Coady and Dale or will it be single-drummer show? Saw them with Napalm Death last year with both drummers and it was amazing.
