Need advice: Did he lose interest or was it just a mismatch? Am I too fast?
Not yet trenta, 28 years old, but pressure is real 🥹
I matched with a guy on Bumble. We talked for about 5 days and he seemed engaged, sweet, and even mentioned plans like hiking and running. However, I noticed I was usually the one initiating conversations, and the plans he mentioned didn’t really move forward.
He also suddenly disappeared during the weekend, then came back on Monday saying he just hadn’t opened the app.
For context, we both said we are looking for something serious/ real relationship early on in the conversation.
At one point, I even told him I was open to meeting and suggested that whatever weekend he’s free, I can meet halfway, but he never followed up with any specific plan.
I started feeling uneasy about the inconsistency, especially since I value consistency early on, so I calmly told him I still enjoyed talking but needed clearer communication.
He replied saying he will be “thrilled to meet me,” but that things weren’t aligning for us. He said maybe not now but some other time, that he would work on the things I found lacking, and ended things politely by saying he hopes we might still meet someday.
From a guy’s POV, what does his last message usually mean? Is it a soft rejection/closure even if there was initial interest, or is there still any real possibility of him coming back?
Also, I’ve been feeling quite anxious and uneasy about this situation (can’t sleep well and overthinking), so I’m also wondering if this is just a clear mismatch in communication style/effort rather than something I should overanalyze
