Most people believe that Naoya stacks up to max speed and lands a singular devastating blow, but this is a misrepresentation of Naoya's fighting style. Once he is at Mach 1, due to the advantage of being able to ignore the laws of physics and conserve his momentum, he lands blow after blow. The same blows that would "punch through" Maki like a hole puncher on paper.

This is why Maki was "planning to receive the blunt of [Naoya's] attack and stop [him] from moving even if it broke [her] ribs" because freeze framing Naoya stopping from continuously slamming her was a worthwhile sacrifice even if it prevents her from defending from the attack properly.

Now this is where people stop themselves from making the final connection. If a singular punch from Naoya is stated to be able to punch through Maki to the point it'll shatter her ribs and he is able to conserve that level of speed, what would happen to an opponent that Naoya is landing 24 strikes per second on including kicks which massively increases his AP? It will be like throwing an orange into a blender, Naoya is the blender literally ripping flesh open continuously, while the sorcerer he is fighting is an orange.
