I think I’ve finally found the trick to get away with period pain?
I (21f) say this as someone who has had the worst period pain on first days almost all my life. It used to be so bad that i used to throw up every single time due to pain. My school and work used to get affected due to this. I couldn’t even sit in classes it used to be so bad.
There were period-education classes held in our school when we were in the age of starting menstruation. We were taught “medicine is bad” “you should never take meds during cramps” “you should go for a hot water bath if it pains”.
Following the same mindset, i suffered for years and years where my mom used to literally scold me for suffering so much and not taking medication. At times when it became unbearable and i took the pill, it used to never suit me and i used to roll on the bed screaming in pain.
Finally, after almost 10 years of having painful periods, i think I’ve found my way of getting through the first day without pain. The moment you wake up, before the pain starts, make sure you fill your stomach with proper lunch (a full meal). This is the step i always ignored due to my low appetite. Just have proper food, a lot of sabzi with roti or whatever your lunch usually is. Wait for 10 mins for it to digest and take the pill. Trust me I’ve never had such easy periods. It has been life changing for me! I went from screaming in pain for hours to having absolutely painless periods!
