Your donor area for a transplant

Let's say you have 'typical' male-pattern baldness (the 'horseshoe' hair pattern) and you get a hair transplant. If hair is removed from the bottom of the horseshoe, where hair is healthiest and has the best chance of regrowth when transplanted, does the donor area become visibly sparser, or is the hair density so great that that doesn't happen? Always wondered about that....

Help me understand this

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I read that Dr. Manhattan stated that everything (The Multiverse) responds to changes in Superman. This makes sense to me in the context of Earth-1/Earth-0 because I guess it's a way for DC to maintain a sliding timeline where Superman is eternally 29 y.o. But what about the Golden Age Supes of Earth-2, Kal-L? Where does he fit in the picture? He existed prior to the Silver Age/Bronze Age/Post-Crisis/Iron Age/New 52/Rebirth Supes, Kal-El. Has the *original* Earth-2 been retconned away? We've been told that"everything is canon." This makes my brain hurt.

And a JSA question: I seem to remember that they appeared before Joe McCarthy's HUAC in the 50s before disbanding. How are these guys still alive in the present day? [And what does this mean for the JLA and the Silver Age Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman and Atom? and the Doom Patrol, Metal Men, Metamorpho and Teen Titans? They were all contemporaries, but has the era of their founding also shifted with changes in Superman?]

I'll DM Supetboy-Prime, *he'll* know. 😉

After you've generated stems in your tool of choice....

[Mine is moises, for which I pay a very reasonable $27/year.] What's your go-to for generating MIDI from a (single) stem, which may turn out to be polyphonic?

Any open mic nights for guitarists on the south shore of Nassau?

Working on getting up the courage to do this but I don't know of any venues near me (Levittown/East Meadow/Bellmore/Merrick area).

Creating block chord arrangments with GP isn't as essy as it first seems

This really isn't a comment on GP pet se, but it's more about arranging for block chords. Maybe this is something that is obvious to most people, but arranging a piece in block chord/chord melody style in GP is a two-step process. Part one is filling in the melody with appropriate chords. Part two is the real challenge: manually reconfiguring the chords so that a human (not just GP) can play them. What process do you follow?

The graphic was interesting in that there seemed to be no rhyme or reason as to why one U.S. state might have a greater incidence of autism than another. But my question is, Is it possible to get autism incidence data from the CDC? Once T***p started his second term, the CDC data website was locked down. I don't understand how stats for every state were available. (The ADDM data is site-specific, not state-specific.) Unless...*special ed* data is being used, which would most likely be readily available on a state-by-state basis.

Saw a book that I really liked. It's a Hal Leonard book and I'm not naive enough to think that I can just download it (you can't). The best I can do is to read a page at a time, but you can use, for example, the Windows Snip tool to take a screenshot of each page as you go.

The reason I brought this up is that I was wondering if there is some kind of browser automation that would use Chrome to sign you in, go to the URL of the book you're interested in, and, then, somehow, download the content (which is not paginated like a conventional document). Been playing with Selenium, Python and UiPath and still have not hit upon a solution. Gotta be a way to do this....

EDIT: it looks like UiPath can automate Chrome to scroll downward and take screen shots of each section of the page. More to come. I'll share my discoveries as they develop, if you're interested.

Just bought a paid subscription to the "Songbooks" section of Ultimate-Guitar.com for $39.99 for 1 year. There is no way to look at the source using the Chrome dev. console. I've experimented with a Javascript script that I translated to Python, and I get a 403 error, even though I am a paid customer. To be blunt, I would like to download a particular book, because I am limited to reading the book in UG's (proprietary) online viewer. Anybody succeed in doing this? Thanks.

P.S. I've read that the songbooks are stored as SVGs but that is moot if I am getting the dreaded 403 error.

Thinking about adding an acoustic-electric to my collection (I have an acoustic and and electric). Is the tone/timbre of an acoustic-electric like an acoustic on steroids, or, unique in its own right?

Also, does anybody have experience with the L. R. Baggs conversion kit that effectively turns an acoustic into an acoustic-electric? I was toying with the idea of converting my acoustic using this hardware, but once I saw that a luthier would have to open my guitar and operate on it, I got a little skittish. Also, for what I would pay for the L. R. Baggs, I may as well just buy a nice acoustic-electric. Comments?

Hi, all,

I am fairly new to this but I have an acoustic guitar that I would like to plug into an amp. (Not yet ready to buy an acoustic/electric.) Can I use the Korg piezo clip-on and attach it to my headstock, and plug the other end into an amp (or is it not designed for this purpose?) And do I need some sort of external power supply or preamp for the piezo mic?

TIA,

K.S.

Specifically, beyond the usual 'cowboy chords.' Did you challenge yourself by trying to play more sophisticated pieces, have a system you worked out by yourself, a teacher who helped you along the way, etc., etc.? And did you move farther up the neck for easier playing?

I've been struggling with my playing since I first started about 8 mos. ago. I realized last night that I was going down the wrong path and decided to do a 180. My strengths lie in singing and accompanying myself. Sat down with my electric and belted out "The Reason" without ever having played it before. Key of G, nice and easy, but just a tad low for my range. Enter Mr. Capo, which brought me up ever so slightly to Ab--perfect! So happy I decided to switch it up. What I need to work on with my teacher is learning a wider chord vocabulary farther up the neck, and proper breath control so I don't run out of steam. (I was ready to give up because I've been frustrated for months.)

This is specific to Guitar Center. For those of you who have taken lessons from them, when a price of, say, $240 per 1-hour lesson is quoted, they're referring to their four-lesson package deals, yes?
