Why we might have become a shopaholic

I often get the result from ai that we have stress, boredom and loneliness in our lives that we buy more of our wants... it's also stems from childhood growing up emotionally unsupported, conflicts in family or career stress. We buy things to escape and control chaos in our lives that we can't stop or help it.

I have bought enough of everything I wanted and I think it best for me to declutter because my bedroom is becoming a stressful hoarded environment to live in. I own too much stuff I barely use too. To me shopping for wants now is just consumerism and wasting more money. It is already bad enough that we're living in a cost of living crisis.

I can say they never really helped with job interviews or getting the job I wanted from my past experience with them years ago. The only thing a job agency has helped was give me a certificate... in the first agency I was with but refused to help look for a job after. I would then get a job through a program and lose it within a week...

The current situation is not really helping me either.

It made me drop-out of school and have long-term unemployment for many years... It's hard when I used to be so lonely, friendless and such. Now that I'm 29F, getting anhedonia again, still broke and living with my parents... Idk what will ever get better in my life.

I think the worst is being a shopaholic and unemployed for a long time... and getting more broke while at it that I had to stop buying things that I don't need because of the cost of living crisis we're facing.
