Now playing: beautiful jazz!! Ryo Fukui, live recording from 2015.
Ryo Fukui - A Letter from Slowboat (2016). Beautiful music! An album that wasn’t available for a ling time on vinyl, but -finally - reissued in 2020. I imported 2 copies: one to play and one to give away to some who is in need of some jazz …
My Pro-Ject Phono Box S needs to be replaced after 12 years of good service, for 1 chanel only ‘hums’. I have a Pro-Ject RBM 6.1 SB turntable with a Rega Elys II cartridge (MM). In due time I want to upgrade this element to a MC (not sure wich one yet) and maybe even a new turntable. Until then I need another phono amp for now.
I can buy a Acoustech ph-1 phono MM/MC amp locally for €400. I read some good reviews of this ‘old’ pre-amp. Does someone here has any experience with this amp?
BTW: I was given the old Elac 870 turntable by my aunt (Ortofon MC10 cartridge), but that needs to be overhauled first
My current set-up:
Preamp: Parasound P/LD-1500;
Power amp: Parasound HCA-1500A THX (2x each bridged as mono per speaker);
CD transport: Parasound C/DP-1000 (revised in 2022);
External DAC: Parasound D/AC-1000 (upgraded);
Speakers: TAF Cadans 5 III (74 kg, 105 cm high);
Record player: Project RPM 6.1 SB with Project Phono Box S;
Minidisc: Sony MDS-JE530;
Cassette deck: Sansui DW-10 dual player;
Tuner: Parasound T/DQ-1600;
CD player: Rotel RCD-991 HDCD;
Streaming: Bluesound Node 2i (playing Qobuz).
