The question of connecting the monitor

I bought my first Macbook (Air M4) and want to be able to connect a monitor to it at home. I have a Philips 2K monitor with HDMI and DisplayPort connectors. I'm thinking about buying a type-c adapter with one of these connectors, but I'm not sure which one to use: HDMI or DP. Which adapter should I choose? Please share your advice
