DT Wolfman to the OEM mpx-k barrel is definitely the way vs ILWT trilug

Tried the ILWT trilug adapter for my Wolfman on this MPX last week and was getting some 6in+ groups. Sighted in this morning with DA’s direct thread mount for the MPX and the groups are much tighter. Same 147 gr Fiocchi ammo

Added benefit that it even looks sexier with the can almost flush with the end of the handguard. Only downside side is now I have to dedicate this can to the mpx and look for a new can for my APC9 but I’m not too upset about that tbh

EDIT to add: this is for my specific MPX. It seems that each one has their own specific quirks from my research of the sub

MP5k (AP5-P) vs. MPX

Shot my AP5-P side by side with my new MPX-K today, and honestly I didn't think it was possible, but the MPX is actually a little softer shooting than the AP5-P.

Put about 250 rounds through the MPX-K with zero issues. The AP5-P had a handful of FTEs during the session. I also ran some Federal 124gr HSTs through the MPX and it ate them without a problem.

As far as accuracy goes, I'd give the edge to the AP5-P. It's definitely the more accurate gun. The MPX is "good enough" accurate, but not exactly what I'd consider impressive. I was a little concerned about that going in since I'd read reports about accuracy issues when running a trilug adapter on the OEM barrel. Eventually I'll probably swap to a 6" ILWT barrel with an integrated trilug. For now, it'll do.

For reference, I was shooting 147gr Fiocchi. AP5-P was suppressed with a YHM R9 and the MPX was running a DA Wolfman.
I think the MPX may have officially dethroned the AP5-P as my most fun gun to shoot. The combination of softer recoil and a true AR-15 manual of arms is just ridiculously easy and enjoyable. That's even considering I upgraded the AP5-P to be a little more AR-like with a Lee Sporting lower. In stock form, it wouldn't even be close.

Gas wasn't bad either. I really didn't notice much until I started shooting the HSTs. Worth noting that I shoot outdoors and my range doesn't allow rapid fire.

Overall, both PCCs are fantastic and I'm glad I own both. If I had to pick just one today, I'd probably still take the AP5-P because the MP5 vibes are hard to beat. But once I get the MPX accuracy sorted out and tuck the can, I think the MPX is going to take the crown pretty easily.

Form 1s are pending on both, by the way. Day 63 on the AP5-P 🥲

Long time lurker, first time poster

Finally able to snag a gen 3 MPX-K for a decent deal. Here’s my first setup iteration. Happy with it so far but bound to change. Probably will add radian safeties and charging handle.

Have some test firing to do to confirm functionality and accuracy then getting a form 1 filed asap

ILWT HK style trilug

Read a lot about this on this sub and other sources and it seems that it just depends on the individual gun but I have a gen 3 4.5in mpx on the way and want to run it trilug like my other PCCs (AP5-P and APC9 pro).

I ordered the ILWT HK style trilug muzzle device. I have a YHM R9 with their trilug adapter as well as a Deadair Wolfman with their trilug adapter.

Planning on trialing them both with 147 grain Fiocchi ball. Hoping for decent grouping at 25 yards (2in or less).

I’m trying to avoid shelling out a few hundred more to get a new barrel but that may have to be the way to go if this doesn’t work out.

Anyone running a similar setup? Any other trouble shooting options short of a new barrel if the accuracy isn’t adequate?

1 year Progress!

Started in May of 2025 with tray changes every 2 weeks, then every 10 days, and now weekly. I still have a few more trays of refinements but that mostly just for my bite.

Really happy that I did this and only wish I did it earlier!

Looking to setup a belt that I can use with my APC, MP5, AKV, and MPX. Probably looking at a taco style mag pouch but want to see what other people are using

**THIS IS NOT A SALES POST**

Won this police trade in 8in factory SBR with the sig 9mm can (SRD9) on GB for 1794 clams.

Looks to be a gen 3 with some pretty significant cosmetic blemishes but I’m sure still works well.

What do we think? Steal, decent deal, or meh?

Didn’t actually expect to win tbh

(Pic for attention)

Me and the wife will be traveling to Switzerland soon for a couple weeks. Just wondering if there are any places that would intrigue someone who is into APCs or firearms in general. Wish I could bring my APC9 out there just for the pic lol

Thanks in advance!
